I hastily went to the airline section to get my tickets verified and deposit my luggage. I was panicking a little as it was my first time doing this all alone. Though we have never gone on international trips much, I knew a few things and dad made an itinerary which could assist me.

After the verification, I suddenly stopped to see so many people around me. Friends meeting each other after a long time, a wife meeting her soldier husband after a war, grandkids meeting grandparents for the first time. The airport was full of memories of such people. Beautiful, disheartening, ugly memories. It made me happy and sad at the same time because suddenly it included a memory with my parents and friends too.

Keeping the thoughts aside I moved forward. I literally had to push people out of my face as I didn't want to be late at all. On the way I heard a couple fight and accuse each other of cheating. I snorted. Of course this is what happens if you try "long distance relationship". But why do I care? It's not that I am in love with someone or anything. I smiled sarcastically and proceeded to the waiting area.

I boarded the plane exactly at eight twenty-eight. The air-hostess was very warm. She helped me find my seat and put my hand bag in the overhead bin. "You look quite nervous, Miss. Is this your first flight?" "No, actually, um, yeah, this is my first flight by myself" "Oh! Solo Trip? I did that once I got over with high school." "No, I'm actually on my way to NYU!" "Really? That's amazing. All the best!"

I thanked the sweet air hostess. I then took out my novel, my reading glasses and settled down with a blanket for the most thrilling ride of my life.
