Chapter Two

Since it was the first day of school, the teachers didn't really care if you were late or not. They just wanted to get out school just as much as the students. I had just opened the door to home room when I slammed into someone. She looked up to see who it was and found Marion standing there. They had spent the summer away from each for the first time. They have been the best of friends since they were in diapers. I immediately hugged Marion. I didn't give him time to react. We stood there and hugged for a good minute before the teacher cleared his throat. We broke apart and smiled sheepishly at each other. I walked into class as Marion left to go to the bathroom. I realized that I had missed my best friend a lot and was glad that he was back.
