Chapter 1
(Niall's P.O.V.)
I felt something shake my bed violently. It wouldn't cease after ten minutes of shaking and bouncing. I rolled over, and tried to ignore the irritating movements of the bed. I just wanted to sleep. Nowadays, I only want to sleep. The bed kept bouncing, until something pressed into my crotch painfully. My eyes shot open in pain.
"Daddy! Daddy! You're awake! Yay!" A little voice chirped brightly, and a little girl came into view. I sighed, it was only my four year old daughter, Skye. I groaned in pain, as I struggled to sit up, since Skye was literally sitting and bouncing her bum on my stomach.
"Eh Skye! What time is it? You know not to wake me up so early!" I groggily spoke, finally sitting up. My eyesight was a little blurry, due to my grogginess. I started yawning, and rubbing my eyes, as Skye rolled over to my alarm clock, and tried to read it. I sighed and went to look at the time- 3:27 P.M.
My eyes flew open, now awake. I overslept! Frantically, I jumped out of bed, as Skye watched me in confusion. "Daddy, what's wrong? Are you angry?" Skye whimpered. I stopped and sighed, walking over to pick up the small girl.
"I was supposed to take you to see the doctor," I answered as I carried her to her room. Her room was a mess. "Jeez Skye, did you have a fight with Mr. Tubs?" I asked, my blue eyes wide with shock. Mr. Tubs was this beat up stuffed giraffe that Skye absolutely loved. What she didn't know, was it used to belong to her mum.
"Maybe. Mr. Tubs said that I was a big fat liar liar pants on fire!" She scowled. I chuckled, as I dug through her messy drawers for some clothes. "Daddy, I don't want to go to the doctors!" She finally screamed, her slender arms crossed over her tiny chest, as I tried forcing a shirt over her head.
"Skye, you need to. Or else you won't be able to start year one, and start to be a big girl." I reprimanded her. She shook her head stubbornly. Something she inherited from her mum. I shoved the blouse over head, and stuffed her arms into the sleeves. Next thing to attack, was her hair.
Skye has the brightest red locks I have ever seen. Well, not the only one I've ever seen naturally. You guessed it, her mum. She was a near perfect copy of her mum, except she had a perfect copy of my eyes. I tried running the worn brush through her fiery red hair, as she started screaming, and trying to push me away.
Finally, she was dressed. But I wasn't. I was standing in her green and purple bedroom, in just a pair of boxers. "Clean up your room while I get ready. If I come back to see that you got undressed, or this room isn't half decent, I'm going to be very, very mad. You know how daddy is when he's mad right?" She nodded frantically, as she started flying around her room, cleaning things up.
I went to my room, and I started digging through my closet and drawers. I found a black t-shirt, but for some reason, all of my trousers disappeared. I went through the last drawer until I came across a little blue envelope. Huh? What was that doing there? I thought, as I snatched it. I flipped it over, until I saw the familiar handwritting. The handwritting I knew and loved so well. In shock, I dropped it, and I heard the little pitter-patter of feet. Skye.
"Daddy, my room is clean, and I didn't undress myself!" She chirped brightly, now climbing onto my back. I chuckled humorlessly, as I found a stray pair of trousers, and slipped them on. With Skye on my back, I quickly strode into my bathroom, and started brushing my teeth, and fixed my dark brown hair. I stopped bleaching it blonde about three years ago, and I just let it grow as my natural hair color.
I carried her out to the car, and carefully buckled her in the carseat. I was always a shitty driver, but when Skye was born, her mum made me get a license. So I did, although I almost ran into the car in front of me when I was supposed to park the car during the test.
