The Fairy Guardians

Chapter 1

Before reading this first chapter please review the prologue. There has been minor character changes since I first released it. Anywho ON WITH THE STORY!

Ash's POV...
I wake up to my best friend burtsing into my apartment. Oh why did I give her a key. "Hi Ash!" Cordelia exclaims. "Oh Cordelia! Don't make me take that key back, " I groan. "Oh hush, " she says. "Now get up!" she exclaims. "Whyyyyyy, " I groan burying my head in my pillow. "Because we are going to the beach, " she says. "This early?" I ask. "Yes, " she remarks. I get up and go into my bathroom to get changed. "Also party at my place tonight, " she yells from the other room. I change into my white bikini with off-the-shoulder ruffle sleeves. Then I put my white sandals on and finish getting ready. I walk out of the bathroom and Cordelia and I leave. "Girl how much time do you spend at the gym? You are so in shape with abs of steel, " she laughs. "A just an hour or two a day, " I think. "An hour or two more than I do, " she laughs. We all live on the coast but I'm closest to the beach...and by closest, I mean I walk out of the apartment and I'm on the beach. Now the rest of the girls have known each other for such a long time. I moved to America nine years ago. So quite a while just not as long. I was born and raised in England but it wasn't right for me. "I'm just going to lay in the sun for now, " I say putting a beach towel down. "Same, " she says doing the same. We lay on our backs propping ourselves up on our arms. "Oof i need my sunglasses, " I cringe. I quickly grab them out of my bag. "Same, " Cordelia says. "Cor you're literally the guardian of light, " I whisper. She shrugs and puts her sunglasses on. "Oh look at those two, " Cordelia says gesturing to our friend Camilla and her human boyfriend Zach. "Eh, " I shrug. "She seems a bit overbearing to be honest Ash," Cordelia says. "Have you met Camilla? Of course she is, " I say. Zachary looks much taller than the 5'2 girl standing next to him. Not too much later Camilla leaves without saying hi to us. Zach comes over to though. "Hello ladies, " Zach greets sitting next to us. "Hello Zachary, " Cordelia responds. "Hi Mr. lifeguard, " I say. He smiles a bit. "How are you two?" he asks. "Very well, " Cordelia says. "Fine mate," I say. "What about you?" I ask. "Good, " he says. "Well I'll catch you guys later, " he says going back to the lifeguard shack. "Bye, " we wave.
Zachary's POV...
Reese(my best friend) arrives at the beach and comes over. "Hey bro, " I say. "Hey Zach, " he says. "I saw Camilla leave here, " he says. "Yeah she came to check on me, " I say. "You mean to make sure you weren't talking to any other girl...like them, " he says pointing to Cordelia and Ash. "Whatever, " I say rolling my eyes. "I don't know how you stand her to be honest, " Reese shakes his head. "Ash is an amazing person...just saying, " Reese shrugs. "I honestly think Ash is choosing to be single forever, " I say. "Okay so first look at her... she hot and has an amazing personality, " he compliments. "I'm with Camilla, " I insist. "Ok ok, " Reese nods. "Camilla just texted- we are going to her place in a few, " I say. "Okay," Reese frowns. I look over at Ash and she looks at her phone and gets up. I bet she got the invite too. I don't think Cordelia did. She's staring at Ash. Ash says something to Cordelia. Cordelia gathers her stuff and gets up as well. I grab my stuff and let my boss know I'm leaving for the day.
Ash's POV...
"Let's go back to my house and get changed then we can go to Camilla's," I say. Cordelia nods. Cordelia and I have very different aesthetics. Mine is all white and hers is colorful. My sister Aquata is all blue. Camilla is sage green. Even Mitchell is here. He's a jerk. Camilla hates him so I don't know how he's here. Once we get there Camilla greets us all. "So was there something you needed or?" I ask. "Yes actually," Aquata says. "Cole and I are engaged!" "Congrats!" everyone exclaims. "Wait so aren't you the little sister?" Mitchell asks. "Yeah, why?" Aquata asks. "It's just, you're engaged and your older sister has never even had a boyfriend," Mitchell accuses. He just went there...wow. "Mitch-" Aquata starts. "I mean like are that unlovable you can't even get a date?" Mitch asks. "What's wrong with you?" he asks. "Everyone else in this room has at least one had someone. You never have," Mitch says. I see both Reese and Zach stare at me. "Maybe just maybe people hate you," Mitch says. "Step off," Reese pipes up. "Oh, can you name someone that's liked her?" Mitchell asks. "Charles," Reese says. "The guy you banished-" Reese continues. "I remember that," Zach says. "Leave her alone," Reese says. "Aww, do you have a little crush on Ashley?" Mitch teases. I can feel the electricity crackle around my fingertips and eyes. "No, but she is one of my best friends," Reese responds. Reese throws a punch straight at Mitch's head. "You little weasel," Mitch grunts. I get up and walk over to them. I know the wind is making my hair fly around. Electricity starts flying from my fingers at Mitch. I couldn't control it. "Ash," Reese says. "Zach is here," he whispers. Crud I forgot he doesn't know. When Mitchell gets back up he throws a blast at me and I go flying backward into the wall. "Out!" Camilla yells at Mitch. "Aww, you're just mad because you enjoyed our kiss last night," Mitch says to Camilla. "I'm sorry your what?!" Zachary exclaims. "Oh, she didn't tell you. We made out and she said she might like me better than you," Mitch spills. Reese helps me to my feet. "You okay?" he asks. I nod. "HOLD UP FIRST WHAT WAS WITH ALL THE MAGIC?!" Zachary asks. Cordelia explains. We were planning on telling the world soon anyways. "Okay, now Camilla and Mitch what the heck?" Zach asks. "Okay, so I kissed him? I just felt a connection that I didn't want to feel!" Camilla says. "Make up your mind but for now- we are over," Zachary sighs. "Zach please," Camilla begs. "We are leaving," Zach says to Reese. Reese leads me out my door and I quickly throw my keys at Cordelia. I didn't know I was going with them. Reese sits in the backseat with me. "So um that was that was something," I say. "You're both guardians?" Zach asks. "Everyone was in that room," Reese says. "I'm the guardian of air and electricity," I say. "I'm the guardian of poison," Reese says. "Cordelia is the guardian of light. Aquata guardian of the water. Cole is the guardian of fire. Camilla is the guardian of nature. Mitchell is the guardian of planets. Then the ones that weren't there are just Bianca the guardian of the stars. Mikayla is the guardian of the moon. Arabella is the guardian of the sun. Lana is the guardian of hexes," I explain. "Wow," Zach says. "Don't forget the groupings, Ash," Reese says. "Oh yeah, so Arabella, Mikayla, Bianca, and Mitchell are the celestial guardians. Arabella is the mother of Bianca and Mitch. Mikayla is the aunt. Sun and Moon are the leaders of the guardians. Then Camilla, Aquata, Cole, Cordelia, Reese, and I are the elemental guardians. Lana is just who knows," I say. "Whos the most powerful elemental?" Zach asks. "Ash hands down," Reese says. "No, you," I disagree. "Ash you can heal, control air, and control electricity. Plus you're a powerhouse and can fight like hell," Reese says. "You literally control poisons," I argue. "Stop arguing we all already talked about this," Reese shrugs. "When we get home can you two like I don't know show me?" Zachary asks. "Sure Zach," I say. When we get to Reese's house we hop out of the car and head inside. "Okay, now power time!" Zach says. "I need a distraction from Camilla," he says. "Air first," Reese suggests. I make a strong wind inside. I throw Reese across the room. He laughs. Reese walks over to a plant and kills it with a swipe of his hand. "Woah," Zachary says. I strike the plant with electricity and it turns to ashes. "Last and most satisfying healing," Reese says. He grabs a knife. "Don't hurt yourself, dummy," I say. "Zach over here," Reese says.
Reese's POV...
I cut my arm. Ash shakes her head and goes to touch my arm. Her eyes glow bright white. My wound closes. Her eyes go back to the silver color they are. "No pain," I shrug. "That's-that's amazing," Zachary says awestruck. "Next time be careful," Ash says punching me in the shoulder playfully. I pick her up from behind. "Hey put me down," she laughs. "Why would I do that?" I say. "Because I'm one of your best friends," she laughs. "True," I say carefully tossing her on the couch. "Not a hot potato," she huffs. Zach and I laugh. "And for the record, you're like my sister not just my best friend," I say sitting next to her. "Okay bro," she says scrunching her nose. "Mind if I get changed, Reese?" she asks. "Yeah go ahead you know where your stuff is," I respond. "Thanks," she says walking down the hall. "She keeps her stuff here?" Zach asks. "Yeah, she's got a room. She's like my family so. I let my basically sister have a room," I explain. I'm an orphan. Sure guardians can live forever with minimal aging but they can die. It's hard to die. We heal pretty quickly like the mythological vampires but guardians can kill guardians if the blast is strong enough or certain magic. The only ones that probably could kill would be Ash, Arabella, Mikayla, and Lana. My parents were killed by Lana's parents who were later killed. Ash comes back out in black and white Nike shorts and a white crop top. She sits down between means Zach and she drifts off to sleep.
