Plan It By Year

I've never done this before, so I'm just gonna start off my introducing myself.
I'm Austen. And I've decided to make my life into a story. Not like a journal or diary, but a story. Dialog and all. So yes, most of these events are true. I don't know how it's going to work out, but I guess we'll have to plan it by year. Ha, see what I did there? Yeahh I'm not funny. Okay let's just jump right in to the first day of school on August 26, 2014.

Waiting. I've been laying in my bed. Waiting. Just waiting for hours. I couldn't sleep that night knowing the first day of eighth grade was just hours away. A new school. A new start. A new life. Not that I wasn't already used to moving a lot. I was. It was mainly how this school was going to be. The school I am going to start at now was the school I would be graduating at, and I didn't want it to suck.
I looked at the clock, it read 5:48am. 12 minutes until my alarm were to officially go off. I've gotten maybe four hours of sleep tops, but I wasn't tired at all.
5:53am. Still waiting. Still thinking. What if this school was just horrid? Would I really have to be an outcast again for the rest of my school life?
5:57am. Almost there. But then what if I loved this school? This neighbourhood? I was almost positive I wouldn't...but a part of me believed I could give it a chance. I don't know. I don't know what to think.
6:00am. There it is. The sound of my alarm buzzing off. I immediately jumped out of bed and turned off my alarm.
My god, the time was going so slow! I stretched a bit and eventually made my way to the bathroom to brush me teeth. I don't usually eat breakfast in the morning, it gives me a bad stomach ache.
I then went to my room and picked out an outfit. I chose my white t-shirt that had some saying on it, black leggings, and my Adidas sneakers. Good enough. I don't want to make too much of an impression.
Then I put on my cover up, just a little on my faint acne. Screw you acne, I thought. I applied eyeliner and mascara. That's alright I guess. I had straightened my hair last night and was fixing my fringes. There.
I grabbed my bag and keys and headed out into the kitchen.

"Mornin' Austen," my mum chimed, "everything ready to go?"

"Yeah, I'm all set," I answered.

"Don't forget your phone. If you need anything, just call or text me, and make sure you have y-" my mum rambled on.

"My keys, I know, I'll be fine I've done this before, mum," I finished.

"Alright, alright..." She sighed. "I can't believe how grown up you've become."

"Mum, don't start a lecture please..." I said.

"I'm not, just have a great day okay love?"

"I will, bye mum!" I said as I started walking down to the bus stop. At least my mum was doing better.

I walked up to the bus stop and there was another person. I came to see that it was a boy about my age that was quietly standing. I think he lives across the street from me.

I tapped his shoulder lightly, "um hey, I'm Austen. I'm new here." I smile brightly, "Do you go to Willowick Middle School?"

The boy smiled back kindly and said, "yes I do. And welcome to Willowick, it's a great place, trust me."

"Thank you," I said back to him. "What's your name?"

"Oh sorry," he said, "My name's Cam. Don't you live across the street now?"

"Yup that's me." I laughed as the bus pulled up.

"Here you can sit with me and I'll tell you some things you might need to know." He offered.

We boarded the bus and were off. So far it was a good start.

"Have a good first day!" The bus driver called as everyone started pouring off the bus.
