I should never have come out here. I knew this was a bad idea. I am currently alone and disoriented in the woods. I came out here alongside my brother and his best friend. We got separated. The Sheriff's department was also out looking for the other half of the dead body. My brother and I hid quickly to avoid getting caught. In contrast, Stiles screamed when his dad snuck upon him. He got caught. I didn't see the direction Scott went; I had ducked behind a rock with my back to the action. Once the Sheriff walked his son back to his jeep, I was left to find my way back.
I could have sworn I heard a wolf howl a few minutes ago, which is unlikely. There have been no wolves in California for at least 60 years. My thoughts were interrupted when the ground started to shake like something was running. Deer came out of nowhere, charging right for me. I dove to the side to try and avoid getting trampled. As soon as I was no longer under their feet, I got up from the ground, and I was startled at the sound of a low growl and the sight of glowing red eyes.
"What the," I said to myself quietly. I then turned on my heel and started running in the opposite direction. Whatever this animal is, It's fast. Before I could even think of what to do to escape this creature, the creature tackled me to the ground. I felt a sharp pain in my right side. I yelped in pain when my eyes opened again, and I saw the treetops. I am alone again.
~~~
After what felt like forever, I was standing on my front porch. My hand is holding pressure on my stinging side. I twisted the knob praying that Scott was home, and unlocked the door; I left my keys in Stiles' Jeep. When I reached the top of the stairs, I knocked on my brother's door.
"Hey, Scott, you home?"
"Yeah, just got back a few minutes ago." I heard him say faintly. He must be washing up.
"Good, I was worried." I let out with a sigh. "Be right back. I'm going to go change into some clean clothes."
What I had told my brother was partially true; I may have left out a detail. I quickly got into my room and shut my door. I lifted my shirt over my head and headed towards my bathroom. Whenever I saw myself in the mirror, I was shocked. Not only was I bleeding, but the wound was a bite mark. I started cleaning the bite wound and patching it up. I threw on a t-shirt and sweatpants.
I walked back to my brothers' room and knocked once again, only this time he greeted with his face instead of his voice.
"Hey," he said with a weak smile.
"Hi," I responded in the same tone.
I walked into his room and sat on his bed, Scott mimicking my movements.
"What happened?" we both asked in unison.
"You first," I suggested.
Whenever Scott had finished telling me his story, I was stunned. What had happened to me had also happened to him. I think Scott noticed something was up with me, and he quirked an eyebrow.
"You okay? I didn't scare you, did I?" he asked, concern showing in his voice.
"N-No... I mean, not entirely. What happened to you isn't the scary part. The scary part is the fact that what happened to you also happened to me...." I blurted out, not peeling my eyes away from my lap.
"Sammy?" Scott looked at me with wide eyes, reaching for my right side. I jerked in the opposite direction, not wanting my brother to see me hurt. "When you said what happened to me, happened to you." He paused as he sighed, tilting his head down. He took in a deep breath and started reaching for the left side of his shirt. "I was hoping not everything, and I see yours is on your right." He nodded at my wound. He lifted his shirt, and I noticed a similar patch job, precisely opposite of mine. My eyes widened.
"Y-You got one too?" I let out with a gulp. He nodded. "What the hell does this mean?"
"I have no idea." He responded immediately.
~~~
"All right, let's see these things...." Stiles said, gesturing to my brother and I's identical wounds. We both took our backpacks off at the same time. While I lifted the right side of my shirt, my brother raised the left side of his, revealing the bandages on our sides.
"It was too dark to see much, but I'm pretty sure it was a wolf." My brother said.
"A wolf bit the both of you? Not a chance." Stiles stated. At the same time, my brother was pulling his shirt back down and lifting his backpack off of the ground while I did the same. We were finally entering the school.

Hey guys! I'm sorry, I know this chapter is really short! I just wanted to dip my feet in the water to see if anyone will actually enjoy this story, just as much as I have writing it.
Be sure to leave a comment letting me know what you think! xoxo
