So this isn't just about gay stuff but I felt like it was important to bring attention to her because of the things she writes about, also the fact that she is underrated.
Melanie Martinez- Omfg I could go on about how much I love this woman forever, Mel is my absolute favorite singer out there, and it's not just the fact that she is bisexual that makes me love her, every single one of her songs are about such an important topic and they really make you think about important things that a lot of people have never noticed before.
I know for a fact that I've become a lot more aware of so many hateful things that people do since I started listening to her music. She is one of the few modern artists that actually talk about real world subjects instead of breakups, which makes her music not only unique but beneficial to society as well.
The last thing I want to tell you about her is that for her first album (Crybaby) it's important to watch the music videos in order because they tell a story, I know it sounds kinda weird but I get a little bit pissed when people watch them in the wrong order so here is the right order:
1: Crybaby
2: Dollhouse
3: Sippy Cup
4: Carousel
5: Alphabet Boy
6: Soap
7: Training Wheels
8: Pity Party
9: Tag, Your It
10: Milk and Cookies
11: Pacify Her
12: Mrs. Potato Head (one of my personal favorites)
13: Mad Hatter (the inspiration for my book Alice In Wonderland, it only has a few parts so far though)
In the deluxe version there is three more songs Teddy Bear, Cake, and Playdate but they don't have music videos (you'll probably know Playdate if you go on tik tok). Her second album (k-12) is technically the sound track to a movie she made and put free on youtube, if you want to watch it it's just called k-12, but it is better to listen to Crybaby first since k-12 is continuing the story her first album starts.
