"Sweetie, you need to enter high school like a regular high school student!" Mom says throwing her hands up. My mom wants me to be a regular high school student like every other 16-18 year old. However, due to my IQ, I was working with other scientists about new things to discover and all that bizarre shit. But to be honest, I only did a few of what these scientists said. They called me lazy, a slob. But that's because in those times, I barely picked up my body from the couch near the lab. If I tried only a bit... Ha! Who am I kidding, I'll never try.
"You're 17, and we feel bad that you have to spend your teenage years being smart and everything." Mom says. Isn't smart being a gift? Oh wait, there's the everything part. "So, in order for you to live like a regular teenager, we signed you up for Cherryton Academy! And you'll start class today!"
"Wait what?" I question. "Cherryton Academy is a boarding school, how can I pack EVERYTHING for today?"
As soon as I said those words, luggages colored teal and purple fell down, causing a loud bang on the floor to happen. Mom and dad rush towards the stairs looking up at my brother, Jer, who packed up everything from my room. Jeremy, peeking at the luggages turns his eyes towards mom and dad. Mom shows a devious glare at Jer, while dad shows a "Please get me out of here" face. I can tell since he uses that face to get himself away from chores mom assigns.
"Sorry!" Jer yells. Mom and dad carry my bags as my parents, carrying it with all their might as they call someone to drive me there.
"Goodbye sweetie!" Mom tears up. "Call us if you need to." Sooner or later, I head to my new dorm.
8 minutes later.
I finally arrive at Cherryton Academy, the place my parents sent me to with MY consent. But really, who cares? I try to find my way towards the principal's office aaaaaannnd I'm lost. So, what am I going to do? What to do? As I ponder the question even longer, A tall man walks towards the bench I was sitting at. His shadow starts to get closer and closer as the light of the sun doesn't reflect the other half of his skin, adding a scarier thing to the principal. His body starts to become larger as he heads towards me, I just continue to look at the man as his body cause you to fear him.
"I'm Gon, the principal, of old told me it's nice to meet you Via," As he looks into the pupils of my eye, my body flinches from the seat. He leans closer and closer as my body reacts with a flight motion. My legs try to move but it was too late. The principal has gotten a hold of the back of my shirt. Squirming for freedom, he walks closer and closer. This could be a death sentence. But then again, the black market is responsible for that. But wait, what if he works for the black market? This could mean he could be heading to a lair or he could kill me as soon as I get into his office. Of course, the worrisome person I am, I continue to squirm away, but whatever. If I die, at least my parents know that this idea was dumb.
5 minutes later
"So I heard from other sources that you work for Mensa, is that correct?" The principal asks. Wow, I thought at this rate he could kill me. Then again, we're both carnivores. But really, every carnivore is an omnivore. So why separate by what they eat?
"Y-yes" I respond. So he did his research
"And I was told that you had one of the highest IQs, beating a large amount of the world's population?"
"Yes"
"Well, miss. What are you doing here?" The principal asks.
I was about to respond something that was against my parents and be blunt about my parent's reasoning of putting me here, but I thought about it. Maybe what they said was right. For the first 8 years of my life, I lived in solitude with my parents. I had nothing to do but read books, play games, and search for knowledge by myself. Until I was about 13, I took an IQ test and ended up getting an IQ of 205. So, I ended up working at Mensa and I ended up gaining new friends, but none were my age. My IQ told me I was exempt from going to school, but I'm pretty skeptic about that rule. We never know what's in the world. My parents tell me I know everything, but I only know one of the aspects. And it would be unlikely to impossible that I could link that aspects to other aspects of life. So it wouldn't hurt trying, right?
"I never really had a childhood" I responded. "I never knew what it was like to play, to listen to music you like. For 17 years, I haven't really seen what it's like to feel like any other teenager would. My life was just blah. And I want to take another step in my life and be like any other regular animal. I want to experience what it's like to be with people. I want to know what it's like to be a regular teenager. Maybe if I entered this school, I could be a regular teenager. Of course, my high IQ would be in the way of other students, but I want to know how it feels to be like any other teen. I know I could walk up to the streets, but I feel going to school is the best way to meet with new people. So I want to take this leap, and do it."
The principal gazes at my lengthy speech. It's either he didn't understand or he did understand. But most humans could comprehend that. I was using easy words.
"That was very well said, Via," the principal said. "I'd like to welcome you to Cherryton academy. Here's your dorm key and everything else. I put you as a second year with the other 17 year olds. I'll assist you to your dorm." We walk towards the hallways, going to the dorms. I see that it's separated by sex and family. No not surname family, but class family. Like which people are similar to you based on characteristics. Basic biology I'd say.
"I forgot to tell you, every high schooler joins a club in order to avoid becoming a NEET. So I'd recommend the clubs you see here. If I was to recommend you a club, I'd pick something that's high in science or math? But who am I to judge. Pick any club you wish." So many clubs to join. But if I didn't join a club, would I still work at Mensa or would they kick me out as I become like any other NEET? Oh well, to keep safe, I might as well choose a club.
We arrive to a room where only one person was in there, a gray wolf. Her uniform was all white, except for the tie It was white, but with a yellow tint. She sat on her bed, looking at the window. Most likely she's daydreaming since she's alone in this dorm. Her head turns towards the door, noticing the principal and my presence.
"Juno, this is your new roommate." The principal said. "Via, this is your new dorm." As my head turns towards Juno, she runs towards me radiating happiness. Her arms spread out as her arms stretch wide towards me. Her arms squeeze the frick out of me. Agh. Too tight! Too tight!
"Sorry," Juno says. "I'm Juno, freshman, part of the drama club. I like to dance and sing and do other creative things in my free time. And I'm planning to be the next beastar." Beastar? Why work for it? The goal is unlikely to impossible to reach. But hey, you won't know if you try, right? I mean, she is just a year younger than me.
"Ok..." I respond. "Via, junior, I'm new so I don't know which club I should go to. Uhm, I like manipulating, reading, doing some creative and philosophical things, be a couch potato, and I'm here just to live a normal teenage life, I guess."
"Live a normal teenage life?" Juno asks.
"Yeah," I respond. I was homeschooled by my parents who work as scientists. I like accumulating a lot of knowledge, so I read a lot of books. I never went out because I wasn't up for an adventure, really. I'm just basically a couch potato that would read books, watch the news, and play video games with good plots. When I turned 13, my parents wanted me to take an IQ test, so I did. Surprisingly, my IQ was very high, and I was put into Mensa. And, I think your intuition can come up with the rest."
"Well, I could maybe show you around later, maybe tomorrow?" Juno offers. This is my first time in a school, so why not?
"I don't see why not," I respond. Juno helps me unload my baggages and as soon as we finish, lights are out.
