Part-4
The first impression of the room to Sam was that it was too bright. He looked up and saw that the entire ceiling was constructed as a glass skylight which was open at the moment. It allowed the natural light from this relatively hot autumn day to pour in aplenty.
The room was also very spacious. As for furniture and decor- there were two tables on the opposite end of the room. A quarter of the right-side wall was lined up with filing cabinets and after them there was a mini-fridge. The other third of the quarter was relatively empty bar a few pieces of Neomodern art that hung around. The left side was more crowded- consisting of two bookshelves and a couch. It also had a large window above the couch. The room in no way resembled as to what a CEO's office should be. It was open and not private because Laure occupied the smaller table right by the door and there was no partition in the middle.
Sam turned his eyes forward and observed the man sitting behind the bigger and more grandiose table. It was Tim Curran alright- because he perfectly matched with what Sam saw in the pictures. Laura walked ahead and went around Tim's desk. She whispered something in his ear and then returned to them. She smiled as she spoke,
"Please take a sit. Mr. Tim can give you some of his time."
Sam nodded. He and Parker strode forward and sat down on the cushioned chairs in front of Tim's desk. Laura on the other hand returned to her desk.
Tim Curran's blond hairs were neatly back-brushed. There were no noticeable creases or age lines on his clean-shaven face. It was largely devoid of any emotion too like that of a professional businessman but a tiny bit of arrogance or maybe pride- seeped through. There was something in his eyes-the way he looked. He was looking at them like he occupied the higher place on the echelon and they were several rungs below in social class than him. Consequence of being raised in a rich, aristocrat like family- Sam thought. Tim was also very well groomed- he was wearing an expensive Armani suit and gold Rolex watch on his left wrist. Sam could also smell a whiff of his cologne- macho and confrontational. He presented a tough- strong appearance that says- Pay attention, Show respect. Sam saw that Tim was also observing them. He didn't pay Sam much attention but Parker seemed to caught his eyes. For a moment he seemed interested but the light of his eyes quickly faded away. He opened his mouth after they both sat down,
"So, Laura here tells me that you are here about the castle. What did you say your name was?"
"Alan- Alan O'Rourke." Sam replied his cover name naturally as he flashed a friendly smile.
"And her?"
"Ah-this is my wife, Emily. Emily-say hello to Mr. Tim."
Parker quickly glanced at Sam to show her annoyance then changed her expression. She also smiled and greeted Tim,
"Hello Mr. Tim."
Tim waved his hand. He then turned to Sam,
"You said your name was Alan O'Rourke. Are you Billy's son then?"
Sam shook his head,
"No. My uncle Roy is Grandpa Billy's son. As a matter of fact, because he doesn't know enough about real estate- he sent us here to discuss about the castle."
"Oh-interesting. So, you guys know about real-estate it seems. What do you do?"
"No-no. I'm just a college professor. My wife here is a real estate agent."
"Real estate agent huh." Tim slightly smiled and turned to Parker,
"Would you be interested to work for me? Our firm is currently searching for capable real estate agents."
