Valient was walking to school with a book under his arm. Though he was much older than everyone in the school by almost 600 years, his friends still told him that he should try to go back to school and witness the changes in the school's learning. The real reason he wanted to go is because he heard that a medium went there, and one that was rather special too. He gladly went, and this was a big change for him as he left the comfort of his own castle.
He made it to the doors of the school and walked in, not smiling but keeping a straight face, not really wanting to show any of the students weakness, or wanting to draw attention to himself. He decided to wear a thick black turtleneck, with long black pants and had on a grey hoodie. His long white hair was pulled back into a simple bun.
Valient saw a kid slamming his head against the locker laughing hysterically as if still trying to open up his locker. Valient walked over to the kid and threw his hand in front of the kid's face; "Hey, I don't think that is called for. What do you think the others would think of you? Are you at least okay?" As he said that, the kid gently set his face against Val's hand and sighed, shaking his head.
"Oh, y-you're talking to me. Yeah, I'm okay... I just hit my head." He sighed and looked up at Val with a slight, nervous smile. "So why are you dressed like it is winter, you know it is the middle of spring right?" The kid laughed slightly, a bit uneasy that someone was actually talking to him.
Val chuckled, and felt uncomfortable with the question; "Well it is a bit chilly out you know, now why are you slamming your head into the locker?" Val sounded concerned as he looked at the kid with worry in his eyes.
"You see... My locker gets stuck and when I pull hard enough to open it, 75% of the time it slams me on the head!" The kid sighed and looked down at his feet, still laughing at what he said, knowing it wasn't true. He played with his fingers and sighed. "Also, to answer your other question, I honestly don't care what other people think about me. I just try to scrape by in school you know. Why would I care anyways?" He chuckled and looked up at Val, rubbing the back of his neck nervously.
Val chuckled and ran his hand through his hair; "Yeah I understand that. Well, let's try to get to class alright. You have English right?" He looked down at his own schedule. "As you might see I am new, and don't really know where my next class is." Val sighed as he said that and then stretched his hand out to the kid. "My name is Valient by the way, but you can call me Val." He smiled very slightly at the kid.
The kid looked up and smiled; "Yeah, I can help you. That is also my next class." He chuckled some and walked down the hall with Val following him closely. "My name is Finn." He sighed and tried to focus on getting to the class. It was nearly the end of the school day when Val just arrived at school. He walked into the classroom trying to keep his head down.
"Ah, Valient you made it! I see you met my son Finnely!" Mr. Raines patted Val's shoulder, "You're a fine young man, glad to see Finn making some friends finally." Mr. Raines smiled and looked around the room, before turning back to Val with a warm smile.
Finn intervened, "Alright, Mr. Raines, that's quite enough from you today!" He chuckled and started to walk to his desk. He looked back at Val. "Would you like to sit next to me?" He smiled and pointed to the desk next to him. Val just nodded and sat down next to Finn, and smiled slightly. "Cool, cool. Thanks for picking me for your table buddy." He chuckled and nudged Val.
Val sighed and rubbed his arm uncomfortably. He looked back up at the teacher, though he was zoning out while the teacher spoke to the class. He looked over at Finn and leaned back into his chair. "So your name is actually Finnely?" He chuckled some as he asked curiously.
