Fake smiles and false words
Is that what our "life" is?
Deceptive courteousy and never-good-enoughs
If only you could realize how much it hurts...
Where true beauty is shunned for the lying mask of it's doppelganger
And individuality is frowned upon
How are you supposed to be yourself when yourself is the cause of your grief?
Ugly, failure, a huge waste of space
That's all you ever know
Your pain is a joke to them
Their laughter to you is the screeching of nails on a chalkborad
But to everyone else it's the gentle chime of a bell
Is that what "life" is?
The demons of your head agree with them and push and shove to get you to that edge
Many fall victim to the lie called society
Too late they realize that pain is an unbearably real thing
That it's one thing that can't be faked
But there is hope
A light amidst the dark
There are those who will listen
And who understand the blank space
Who have fought with their demons and visited that edge
Please don't give in
There are more like you than you may think
I guarantee they will listen
And perhaps together we can show
This lie called society
A flame that can't be blown
