Sharp tangs of liquor painted tablecloths,
bills strewn in almost every place imaginable. Four acts had already finished, the peak of the show approaching as the last two performances came closer.
"You can't tell me you don't find this hot," Nobara commented in puzzlement. "I hope they stay after," she nudged your shoulder with an elbow suggestively.
"It's alright," you murmured as you poured off a shot for a patron. "Just not something I'd willingly pay to see, it's too theatrical."
"Did you not see Nanami carry that girl and put his face between her legs? The man was practically eating her out," Nobara questioned with an offended expression. "Are you sure we're watching the same show?"
You sighed, shaking your head as you filled the dishwasher with empty glasses, each sticky with liquor and faint lipstick stains. "They're hot and all, I just think this whole thing is desperate. Not my taste."
"Don't even lie, you're trying to protect your ego," Nobara stated accusingly, a hand on her hip in sassed dramatics. "I'd pay a whole month's paycheck for a taste, and I'm a high maintenance girl."
She wasn't wrong.
Maybe it was your own self-pride, the last shred of dignity you were clinging to that kept you so dissenting towards admitting your own desperation. But the next performer to come on was the real test for that morality.
The lights dimmed, spotlights shrouding the stage as the crowd cheered. Nobara gave you a sharp side-eye, as if saying, "be honest with yourself."
You sighed exasperatedly, resting your jaw on your fists as your elbows kissed the cool bar counter. Your eyes focused lazily on the stage, those same familiar neon hues fading onto it. Music resounded into the scene, pervading from each corner as a new man walked onstage.
One with a strapped black vest, dark pants and a belt - holding a thin nightstick, handcuffs dangling from the opposite side.
Your eyebrows furrowed slightly, your face lifting from your fists just slightly in attempts to get a better look - platinum hair, sharp facial features, and thin sunglasses.
Your eyes widened, gaze examining the man before you - even the sight of him was alluring, something all the women in the room definitely agreed with. Chants of "Gojo!" resounded as he smirked devilishly, unzipping the vest to display his toned abdomen.
The way he maneuvered was much smoother than the others, gliding like an acrobat as he spun and flipped. It was mesmerizing and stunning to watch, each movement perfected and bringing on cheers.
