WHITE

She painted herself white that day........

Wailing and crying she made her way into this world as white

For white is the colour of a fresh blank canvas ready to be tainted.

Her first cry was heard inside those white walls, held by two bloody white hands.

Tears of relief washed their cheeks, those who she was dear to.

White is not a color...

White is what painted her childhood.

Her innocence, her purity, her serene eyes-
All added to the halo of white.

Every living soul around her showered her with affection.

No one bearing any single ill will towards the innocent soul,

For she was painted in white......
Full of innocence, untainted by black
- the bearer of evil.

For what she didn't knew was -
White in the veil of innocence and ignorance,
Was still an assortment of varied tainting shades......unknown to her

For what she didn't knew was -
White was the shade of Lucifer and
White was the shade of emptiness, detachment and sterility.

And so......

White was the first shade -
The first shade that tainted her soul-
Her soul that was imperceptible by the eyes of evil,

Was but now very pronounced.

So this is how......

She tainted herself white that day.........
