I stand on the edge of a blazing river, skipping smooth stones into the rippling water ahead, waiting for the briliant sunset to take place.
Suddenly, I hear footsteps crunching on the sand behind me. I whirl around, but I stumble and cut my knee on a ragged peice of rock, turning the golden colour sand, into a deep shade of Crimson.
I look up and see a hooded figure. It's laughing at me. I don't know why it would find me amusing. It's laughs suddenly turn into beeps, I look at it strangely and see that it's slowly fading and clouding together. Everything, from the beautiful sunset, to the now Crimson coloured sand, is slowly fading away into nothingness.

Hey guys! This is going to be my first fantasy writing I've done. Actually this is my first ever story Ive actually wrote full stop.
But I'm open to all sugestions and I need help because I'm not to sure we're this story is going. I have the next few chapters sorted. Please criticise because that's how I can make the story more enjoyable for you guys.
I'm also going to have a competition, you get to create your own character, YAY!!! I will most likely only choose 1-3 so please don't be disappointed if your character doesn't get picked.
I know this chapter is really short but they will progressively get bigger as the story goes on.
