I hesitantly looked down down at my phone. My trembling hands about to combust. When I looked at the phone I was pleasantly surprised by who was calling. It was my friend Lydia. I don't know why I though it would be Derek, but I'm glad it wasn't because if it was, I probably would have jumped out the window.

When I answered the phone I was caught off guard by a glass shattering scream. And Lydia is a banshee so that wasn't too pleasant.

With talking speed faster than lightning she exclaimed "OMG OMG HAVE YOU HEARD WHO'S GONNA BE AT THE PARTY TOMORROW NIGHT?!"  Quietly I responded "Derek ha-" she cut me off "DEREK FREAKING HALE"

"Yea I know" I said "and your not exited?" She responded. "I didn't say that" I replied. "But you sure as hell sounded like it." Listen kalen, You have had your eye on Derek for a long time, so I'm expecting you to make a move."

"Believe me when I tell you Lydia, I probably don't have a single chance." "I mean the only reason he will be there is because of some wolf business."

"That may be true" she replied. "But if u truly want him as much as you say you do LITERALLY all the time.... like u wont shut the fuck up about him." "Then I expect you to at least talk to him."

"anyways good luck and I'll see u at the party kale chip."

"Bye Lydia"

School went on for what seemed like years, But eventually it was over.

I quickly walked to the door, not even saying bye to my friends.

When I exited the building I got a text from my mom stating "I won't be home until late tonight. You know where the key is, and I left some money for pizza or takeout or something."

I responded with a simple "K"

I really do feel for my mom. Ever since the divorce we have both been out of it." Its been a rough couple of weeks but we are trying our best.

I don't really wanna think about it right now, because I'll probably spiral into a tornado of never ending thoughts like usual.

I hop on my bike and pedal away, leaving all the thoughts behind. Just my headphones and the cool autumn breeze rushing past me.

Music is one of my only escapes. When I listen to music it's just nothing but the sweet sound. No thoughts, no worries, just the music.

Before I knew it I was already home. But something felt really off.

The cool crisp breeze of the fall air was almost whispering danger...

I hesitantly stepped inside.

When the door opened I heard frantic scattering. Almost as if someone was in my house trying to get away.

With one loud crash, and a growl I fell to the floor.

I quickly shuffled through my bag trying to find my mace.

I notice a cool breeze pouring into the house,       and I notice that the back door is open.

Mace in hand I slowly got up creeping to the back door.

Peering around the corner I smell a strong scent...almost like a musky, animal smell.

I looked a little farther and there it was... a wolf black as ebony. Eyes red as crimson almost piercing into my soul.

Before I even knew what happened it bolted off into the brush...
