I arrive back to my room and open the curtains.  I started to get dressed into my evening wear and look outside. "Oh my god" I blurted out. His room is across from mine. He looks back at me smirking. With an awkward smile, I close the curtains once again and collapsed on the bed.

'God he's already seen me practically naked- i-i've just made a fool of myself already oh gosh, oh gosh'. I thought to myself.

I looked at the time to see it was 12pm, almost time for lunch which was 12:30. I had to get ready so I could find my mom and still make it on time.

I did some makeup and finished putting on my evening gown. "Mom?" I called out wandering threw the halls looking for her. "Mom? Where are you?" I yelled.

"Down here, sweetie!" I heard her yell back and I walked down the stairs shocked she was already ready knowing that she's always late. "You ready?" She questioned me already walking out the door so her question was quite pointless. "Ya mom I'm coming."

We got into the car and our driver started off to lunch. "So mom, the best mom in the whole wide world.." I began to say in a high voice with a smile when she stopped me. "What do you want Y/n?"
"I was just going to ask if you would care to introduce yourself to the new neighbors who moved in, they have a very nice son who I met this morning and I just know you would like him." Her smiled faded a bit. I continued rambling on, "He's tall, has the prettiest eyes and oh my god so handsome." I started to say forgetting I was talking to my mother.

"Y/n, how old is this boy?" She questioned. "He's my age mom, he's going to go to my school and they kind of got all their money unexpectedly so I thought you could show them around and how life around here works!" I said trying to stay cheerful.

"Well, I suppose that would be fine." I heard her say. I let out a shy of relief and calmed down. I told her I had Brian make brownies as a welcome gift and she thought it was a great idea. Again, a shy of relief fell over me.

"So, have you become friends with this boy? Does he have a name?" My mother began asking questions again. "Uh- ya kinda I talked to him this morning, he came wanting to introduce himself oh and his name is Josh." I told her. "Josh is a fine name, I'm glad he came to you. They always come to you Y/n, never go to them." She said in a stern voice. I shock my head in agreement and noticed we we're at the country club.

We got out of the car after thanking our driver and went inside for tea and finger food. As usual, all our boring and dreadful "friends" were there and we sat with them. I was bombarded with questions about school, friends and family when I didn't want to say anything to them I knew I had too. "Well, it is summer but I will be a Junior next year and I'm excited to work on my studies." I said lying just to please them.

"That is very nice Y/n, I am glad you are enjoying school." Someone said who I wasn't listing too. My mother continued on with the convo bragging about me being smart which some things that we're definitely not true we're also brought up. I've learned it's best to smile and nod to everything.

I looked up from my food to see Josh standing outside the window waving at me. "May I be excused for the restroom?" I asked the table which was followed with a yes. I leapt out of my seat hoping no one saw Josh.

I got outside and found him looking for me. "Josh what are you doing at lunch?" I asked him. "Well my parents thought it would be good to come here our first day to meet people so I was dragged along. I told them I quote on quote needed some fresh air which they some how bought." He laughed. "Isn't that what you rich people say when you want to leave?" He questioned. "um well yes sometimes, it is a good excuse which doesn't lead to many questions so I would keep that one in mind." I said, now laughing with him.

"I really have to get back to my table even tho god knows that's the last thing I want to do." I said sadden, wishing I could stay outside with Josh. "Why? Why Y/n? We could be doing a million things right now. I mean i'm sure there has to be things around here." He said sympathetically. "You know Josh as much as I would love to run away with you, I don't want to be killed so I'm going to go back inside." I paused before finishing what I was going to say. "But, I'll tell you what, when I told my mom about you and your family she seemed okay with the idea of me hanging out with you. So, I thought I can pick you up at your house tmr- let's say around 10am and take you on a grand tour of the town." I told him. "I would love that Y/n. Thank you." He said with a smile.

I started walking back to the club house when I heard him yell my name. "Oh wait Y/n uh do you have a number?" He called out. "Ya Josh I do." I replied. "Can I have it?" He asked. I walked back over to him and put my number in his phone. "Their you go." I smiled at him once again.

I got back into the club house and in my seat pretty fast knowing my mom would question where I was. I sat down at the table and she gave me a look which I knew I would have to explain myself later. "So how about these sandwiches?" I said trying to break the awkward silence between me and her. She rolled her eyes before replying. "Great, aren't they everyone." They all agreed with her.

After what I had felt like years, lunch was over. We found our driver and hopped in the car. "Where we're you for all that time young lady?" Was the first thing I heard when I stepped into the car, not even sat yet. "Mom, I was just outside getting some fresh air. I haven't been able to be alone much today." I said using Joshes words. "Okay Y/n but if I find out you we're lying to me I'm not going to be happy." She said. "Yes mother."

My mom told me she was going to be at an event the whole morning and afternoon the next day which was perfect. I told her to keep me updated on how she was and that I hoped she has a great time.

When we got back to our house I went straight to my room to see if Josh was there to wave. He was. He waved back smiling. I closed my curtains once again and sat down on my couch. I knew I was falling too fast but I couldn't help it.
