When they pulled away from their hug, Key felt a pang in his heart. Jonghyun's eyes were a little red and teary and he couldn't help but feel responsible for those tears. After all, he did leave Jonghyun for three years. While he was away, he always justified it as trying something new or simply taking an opportunity to see the world, but in reality it was just running away.
Key knew he was thinking too much and that he needed to stop, so he forced a smile onto his face.
"I promise I'm going to make it up to you, Jjong. I shouldn't have been away for so long, it wasn't any good for either of us." Jonghyun wearily smiled back and sat down on the bed with a light sigh.
"God, I'm so embarrassed, I shouldn't have said any of that, Bum. I probably made you feel horrible... I just missed you a lot, okay? You know how clingy I am-"
Before he could continue rambling on like Key knew he would, he threw one of the shirts he had been packing at Jonghyun's face.
"Help me pack, Jjong."
"You know, you'll only be staying over for like thee days. Well, that's unless you'd like to move in- which I totally wouldn't mind." as much as he was trying, Jonghyun couldn't seem to fold the shirt neatly.
"You don't have nearly enough closet space." Key could already see the wrinkles forming on his shirt, so he took it from Jonghyun's hands and refolded it himself.
"You can have Sodam's old room as your closet." Jonghyun began to rummage through Key's closet, looking for anything he'd like to see the other wearing.
"I don't think I could deal with you being my roommate." Key just watched Jonghyun intently as he browsed through his clothes and hoped he didn't come across something he shouldn't.
"You should get used to it, you're gonna be stuck with me through college." Jonghyun paused on a large white shirt with a slit down the middle that ended mid chest. As if that wasn't enough, it was translucent. Just imagining Key in a shirt like that made him shiver. Hastily, he returned the hanger to the closet and continued looking trough much safer T-shirts.
"You already decided were gonna be roommates?" Key asked from across the room, standing by his drawers while selecting a pair of jeans.
"Yup, I think I decided when we were at summer camp when we were ten. I can't stand other people, I just like you." Jonghyun managed to send him a goofy smile, one that left a light blush on Key's cheeks, before he went back to rummaging through the younger's closet.
"I'm sure Taemin, Minho, and Jinki would love to hear that."
"You're my best friend, Bum, they'd under-" Jonghyun suddenly went quiet and it took all of Key's self restraint to not push him away from his closet.
"Whoa, why do you keep all of these in here? Are you ashamed of me?" Key froze and quickly- too quickly- he rushed over to Jonghyun.
Key chuckled softly at Jonghyun as he taking out a stack of photo albums from the closet.
Jonghyun sat down on the floor next to Key's bag, not wasting a second in opening the oldest of the five.
"I took them with me, I just haven't found a place for them here. I haven't completely unpacked yet, there's still boxes of stuff sitting in there, I just don't have room for it all."
"You should let me have these then, I haven't looked through these in years! Just look at this! We're covered in bubbles!" Jonghyun was holding up the book and pointing at a picture of toddler versions of them plopped in a bathtub, covered by a copious amount of bubbles and surrounded by floating toys.
