Chapter 111 Time is Money

At TSC,

Erin was sitting in her office when Hao Meili entered.

"Miss Parker-Chen, you will be going to Marketing. Please report to Mrs.Xi in the Marketing department." Meili informed her and gestured her to come.

Erin followed Meili to the Marketing Department, and Meili showed her to a meeting room, "Good Luck," she said with a smile.

Erin smiled back and entered the bright meeting room.

"Miss Parker-Chen, our new intern. Please take a seat with us." said Mrs.Xi pulling out a seat.

Mrs.Xi was a well-dressed woman in her late thirties. She wore thick framed black glasses and had a blunt straight, shoulder length hairstyle.

Erin sat at a long polished wooden table with around fifteen other employees.

"Miss Parker-Chen, here in the Marketing department we cover numerous aspects. Some do research and data analysis, some cover promotional work and others do advertising. You will have the chance to perform tasks in all of these areas during this week and next week."
Erin nodded and took notes.

"However," Mrs.Xi raised her voice, "today I have gathered you all because I need your best ideas for this upcoming campaign."

One of the men distrubuted a pile of papers around the table.
Erin looked at the paper. It was an advert for different styles of shoes.

Mrs.Xi held up the advert, "I'm sure most of you haven't heard of Harper Shoes. They are an American brand who are looking to branch out internationally. They have recently signed with us to represent them here in Shanghai and help them promote their brand."

Mrs.Xi continued, "They will arrive tomorrow to shoot an advertisement and take the promotional photos. We will gather later today to swap ideas."

Mrs.Xi stood up and checked her watch, "You have three hours!" she yelled, "Time is money!" as she marched out quickly.

Suddenly, in a flash, all of the people dispersed. Erin was shocked she followed behind walking quickly back to her office.

Erin sat at her computer and researched Harper Shoes. She found that they made a variety of shoes varying from home slippers, sandals, sneakers to the most elegant evening heels.

She grabbed her pen and wrote down her notes using her right hand and continued to type with her left.

Victoria watched her carefully from her desk.

Meili opened the door and scolded Victoria, "Miss Fallon there you are! Mr.Ning is asking you to remain in the accounting department at all times!"

Victoria rolled her eyes and dragged her feet as she left the room.

Erin checked the time, only five minutes left!
She quickly grabbed her notes and walked at a speedy pace back to the meeting room.

Mrs.Xi was checking her cellphone and smiled at Erin when she saw her enter.

After two minutes, Mrs.Xi closed the door. However only half of the team had arrived.

Erin looked around the table at the others, but they avoided eye contact.

Someone knocked on the door, and Mrs.Xi made a frustrated noise and went to open the door.

"I DON'T HAVE ROOM FOR TIME WASTERS!" she bellowed slamming the door in the person's face.

She sat back down and smiled as if nothing happened, lighting a cigarette and pointing at a random person, "Go!" she ordered.

The poor guy shook as he spoke, and the man after him tried his best to explain himself despite the sweat running down his face.
Erin was feeling quite nervous for her own turn.
