Chapter Three
Michael and Arabelle had very wonderful moments on the train. Michael had persuaded Arabelle to move in with him for the rest of the journey to which she complied as she could not contemplate being alone again.
Allan and James the faithful bodyguards had tracked Michael to the train station. The rest was easy. Michael's cell was going an answered as he had put it in silent with no vibration.
Arabelle had never failed to turn heads whenever she went and that never amused her. from the many novels she had read and movies she had watched, beautiful women were treated as objects of desire but nothing more. That never went well with Arabelle. The attention she got at the railway station as the disembarked was as always, what brought about the difference was being together with Michael. The two make a very striking couple. Michael tall well-built and handsome and Arabelle beside him with her long brown flowing hair ankle length dress gave a great impression on the bystanders. For once Arabelle enjoyed the feeling and walked proudly besides Michael. Her savior and protector.
They got into the waiting Limousine and were taken to the airport and secretly boarded the jet. Fifteen minutes later the crew were to see Michael and his group get into a limousine bound for his parents residence. Michael and Arabelle were yet come up with a working relationship and Michael wanted to involve his parents. She was definitely going to work for them. At least she had told him of her education background, that being a holder of Degree in Business Economics. Alongside being a linguistic in a number of Languages. German, Swedish, Italian, Japanese and Chinese alongside English and native French. Michael knew that she would be an invaluable asset in their company. How she mastered the languages was still a mystery to Michael. But he was ready to give her space to get herself together
On the ride to Michael's residence, he still lived with his parents At South Harrow, Arabelle was quiet. Her mind was all in a muddle as she had no clue of what to expect.
"Why are you so quiet my dear?"
It was heartwarming for Arabelle to hear Michael call her "My dear."
"Am just worried how your parents will take of me. Your company employs highly educated and experienced people from reputable homes and not a degree holder from some community college somewhere in France." Arabelle miserably said.
"Don't worry. They will love you immediately like a daughter and I will be beside you." Michael reassured her.
"Like a daughter? Arabelle questioned turning to gaze at Michael. "I was talking of as an employee. How does the picture of a daughter come in?"
"Oops, my, mistake. I mean your grades in school were impressive and your command of the languages is priceless. I could need a personal Assistant as you. I sacked my last one for incompetence."
"Personal assistant? How personal?" She probed him with raised eyebrows.
"Oh please you are making me say all the wrong things. I mean Personal in official capacity."
"or it could be what you want to really mean. I have met your kind. Ready to take advantage of weaklings like me. Please don't take this personally, but to get where I have got, I have had to keep my guard up always. I cannot afford to relax. I only allow it to come down in the train as I knew the occasion will never arise again and I appreciate that you did not take advantage of me."
"How can I not take this personally? One moment you are saying thanks the next you accuse me of being evil...?." Before he could say more she planted a full kiss on his lips and allowed him to enjoy the moments just as she did.
"Now what was all that about?" He asked with suspicion.
"Just to let you know, no matter how much I distrust men, you will always be very special to me. I believe we have reached our final destination as the car has stopped." She informed Michael.
But Michael was not satisfied with her verbal reassurance and the one minute kiss. He pulled her into his arms and kissed her. She gave no resistance whatsoever. Even when he fondled her breast. She melted into his kiss. He had never fallen in love but what he was feeling was definitely related to that elusive and earth moving emotion.
The finally broke free, breathless weak, naked desire in both their eyes. Michael was determined to make her his no matter what. The advantages of being with her were numerous. They got out of the car to face surprised parents who were not expecting a guest and as beautiful as she was. Michael's father became tongue-tied so did the mother. Michael had evaded every possibility of getting close to ladies and many had made open advances but all failed to make an impression on their son. So the sight of him being comfortable next a lady was astonishing.
The parents came out of a two storey mansion built in the nature of a castle but modernized in its structure and design. Michael's mother wore a long flowing bottle green dress with marching shoes. A very striking appearance. His father was in his custom make navy blue suit with impeccably polished black leather shoes.
"Arabelle, please meet my parents. Mum, dad, meet Arabelle a friend. We met in France and she has shown potential as an employee in our company.
His parents walked down the stairs to meet the couple.
Arabelle stretched out her hand to greet Michael's mother instead of taking her hand,Arabelle was pulled into an embrace.
" Welcome home my daughter." And truly Michael's mother felt elated hugging Arabelle. She enjoyed the moment as she dad never got the chance to call and love anyone a daughter. Being French had a lot of advantage as now Michael's mother will begin to chatter away in French as never before. Arabelle felt so good being in a motherly hug.
"Mother, please share. Dad is waiting." Michael complained but with humor.
" Am sorry." His mother said and still not letting go of Arabelle.
"Am Alice, Michael's mother and this Malcolm my husband, Michael's father. Now can we go inside and get to know each other." And with that, they were gone into the castle.
"I thought you said she is to join us as an employee. Is there anything that your mother read between you too that I have missed?" Michael's father asked and very perplexed hopeful.
"Nothing else, dad. She is just a friend and has very interesting qualifications."
"We better get in and I learn of these qualifications." The men both got into the house leaving the house helps to bring in the luggage.
The interior design of the house was impressible done to give a look of the medieval times yet with a modern touch. Very big windows with long flowing curtains and spacious with a staircase leading to the upper floor and two doors one leading to the leaving room and dining room which connected to the kitchen the opposite door leading to the study and library.
The floor was tiled.
The Living room was beautifully done and big 100 inch plasma TV hung on one wall. The men could hear the women chattering happily in French in the kitchen. It gave Michael immense pleasure to hear Arabelle's laughter mixed with his mother's.
"Dad, how come you are not in the office today? It's unusual." Malcolm had handed over the reins of power to the son in the hope he, Malcolm, would be able to spend more time with his wife but that never came true. His nature of being a workaholic kept kicking in. He did not build his empire by taking holidays.
"I was working from home as your mother has been advising. Now that our company systems are interconnected, it's not necessary to leave the comfort of the house. By the way how was France? I hope you have not forgotten your mother is French from her mother's side. Am sure they have a lot in common with your girlfriend."
"Girlfriend? Dad she is just a friend." But Michael did not trust himself to feel he was being honest.
"I hope that you're wrong. She is a prize to keep."
Michael just grinned.
