The Green-Eyed Girl

The first incident

It was a lovely Saturday morning, I woke up late without the worry of being late. The smell of the sea wafted through my open window. "Evelyn!" my mum's sweet voice ran up the stairs, "I've made pancakes for breakfast!". She didn't need to say anything else. I was already rushing down the stairs, I mean who doesn't like pancakes? Noah my brother was already there trying to get a bite of the whole stack with his fork. Dad was on the couch reading the daily news like always. Trevor our Siberian husky ran to greet me and sat down at the foot of the stairs, I rubbed his belly and gave him his breakfast and went to get my own.

Everything seemed like the typical Saturday morning I always love. I started eating my set of pancakes with a hoard of maple sauce, raspberries and blueberries. "Evie, can you take Trevor for a walk after?" my mum asked, Dad took him for walks most of the time, I did too, but it was weird that she would ask me this... I was confused but I agreed anyway. I got Trevor's water bottle, a box of snacks and his harness. He obviously was not in the mood to move, It took me and dad to get him in his harness.

I got ready to go, I took him to his favourite place to get him moving: the beach. I liked the beach too, Trevor's friends Luka, Oliver and Katie were there too, I'm honestly not sure if Katie is "just a friend" to Trevor, he seems to be around her quite a lot. I went up to Jason, Olivia and Sam (the other dog owners who were also my friends). "Hey guys!" I called as I rushed up to them. "Hey Evie!" "What rank do you think you'll get, since we're all about to turn 16," I asked. "I think I might be rare, or ultra-rare," Sam said "Yeah same" Me and Olivia agreed. "What about you Jason?" "I don't really know... I have a feeling I might be common". "Hey, don't be like that! plus whatever rank we get we'll still have each other's backs right?" I said somewhat nervous myself. "yeah... I guess" Jason smiled, which made me happy. 

Somewhere from behind me, where the dogs were, I heard someone say "ooooh does someone have a crush" I looked behind to see Trevor and Oliver together and Katie and Luka beside them. I didn't see anyone else... but I'm pretty sure I heard someone say that. I walked up to the dogs, they looked at me and Katie said "Hi Evelyn, something wrong?" I pinched myself to make sure I wasn't hallucinating, sure enough, I wasn't... What was going on, I staggered back to my friends and told them what happened. "Oh, that happens when your about to turn 16, your magic starts to flow to you" Sam reassured. "Yeah but I haven't heard about being able to talk and listen to dogs..?" Olivia asked looking utterly confused which made Sam blush. I knew she was lesbian and I couldn't blame her, Olivia looked so innocent and adorable.
