The ghoul

I suddenly felt something drop in my right pocket of my trousers. I felt inside, cautiously backing away as it advanced toward me sometimes grinning sometimes howling. I pulled it out and found a bronze lighter, is the creature scared of flames? The ghoul flinched and screamed when I brought it out. I opened the lid and the lighter transformed into a golden sword with the words "fulgur precussor" etched in gold on the handpiece. I guess I had to get past her to get any further with this situation. After dodging and striking on the ledge outside the cave, I had pinned her against the wall outside the entrance of the cave. I had already gotten a dislike for this ghoul the prettier version was just annoying, and the depressed one was constantly crying and all that crying was literally so irritating! I put the sword against her neck and she screamed in agony and dispersed into red dust, I kicked it off the ledge and it floated away to the sky. It was already 4am. My clothes were torn and my face was covered in cuts and bruises, my hair was tied back and was flapping in the wind.

My parents wake up at 3:30, and it was already 4. I needed to go back... I flew down and gathered my things and hurried home. I flew in through my window and went downstairs. Trevor was whimpering and racing around my parents, my mom was lying on the couch sweating with a cold pad with my dad tending to her. When they saw me, my mom almost slipped off her pillow and my dad looked shocked. Trevor stopped orbiting the sofa and howled and started orbiting me trying to help my wounds. I was definitely going to need some explaining to do.

"Where on the face of the world were you, young lady!" my dad asked, but whenever he asked something like that it always seemed like he was demanding an answer without fuss. I was thinking of a good excuse for something that was very hard to excuse for. How am I supposed to explain all the cuts and bruises, torn clothes and a random bronze lighter? I slowly put the lighter back in my pocket, making sure they don't notice.

"Well, uhh... I was at the beach... for a midnight swim because I couldn't sleep" which was true.

"And your bruises and torn clothes?" he continued.

"Umm... I was practising uhhh my....... new abilities!" that was also true.

"Still doesn't explain your bruises that I am sure are by talons or blades....?" my dad looked unimpressed.

"Oh uhh...umm.... I met a..... seagull who wanted.... my bag!" I lied, I really didn't like lying to my parents.

"No, that's not the truth. I want the truth. You get in a fight?"

"Okay, you got me. I did get in a fight, and yeah those are talon and blade marks...." I gave in, I couldn't lie but I couldn't tell the truth either. The voice was clear to not tell anyone.

"I had a vision, and a voice spoke to me...., I'm told not to tell anyone anything about it. So I can't give in the whole truth--"

Noah came downstairs looking completely upside-down, "What's with the yelling... I was sleeping" he yawned.

"It's nothing you need to know about" I mumbled making sure he only hears.

"OH MY- IT IS MY BUSINESS WHEN IT COMES TO SOMEONE HURTING MY SISTER!! WAS IT THE ANNOYING BUTTS?" my brother yelled when he saw my bruises.

No, it wasn't Gabby and Charlotte, I'll tell you after... tho I am surprised you care" I tried to calm him down.

"Fine, I go get ready..." he fumed

"It's okay, I understand some things can't be shared after your birthday," my parents said when my brother went upstairs.
