During S1, an angry and vengeful Beatrix cuts off Farah's hair. That one act reduces the strong Headmistress to tears in front of her students
The wind had blown around the cafeteria where everyone was sat and Beatrix' voice bounced off the walls.
"You bitch!"
Eyes followed her as she stormed down the stairs and into the main hall.
"What did you do!? She's not there!"
The headmistress looked away from a conversation she had been in and watched the raging air fairy stomp towards her, a curious expression on her face.
"Who would you be talking about Beatrix?"
The air crackled as the younger fairy's anger grew stronger at the headmistress' calm reaction.
"You know who isn't there, Rosalind isn't where you kept her locked up for the last 16 years!"
The students in the hall watch the interaction between the air and mind fairy with interest, not quite knowing what was happening but their curiosity taking the lead anyway.
"Rosalind is a liar and once I found out that she had been manipulating students she was moved to queen Luna's dungeons; where, should you be foolish enough to go looking, you'll find she's kept in a maximum-security cell that combines the strongest powers of Solaria and Alfea to keep her locked away."
"You're the liar. You burned down Aster dell, you took away my home and it was Rosalind who saved me. Her conscience got the better of her and she saved me while you killed the rest of my village!"
The redhead had thought that this information being brought up would finally shake the composed headmistress, but the only reaction the woman had was a slight furrow of her brow.
"No Beatrix. Rosalind has fed you her twisted version of the past, manipulating you so that you would become beholden to her. Come up to my office, we'll talk, and I can tell you what really happened."
"No."
The air fairy shook her head, her eyes narrowing as she took a step back.
"Rosalind warned me about this, told me you would try to make her the villain in the story. It's not going to work, not on me."
"Beatrix..."
"No!"
The air around them hummed with wild energy as though it were a savage beast that had been locked up too long.
"Let me show you."
The headmistress' eyes glowed as images filled her student's mind. She allowed her student to see memories that she herself only saw when she was asleep and her nightmares took over her mind's eye before burying them deep once again when the sun came up. She allowed her student to feel her terror and anguish at the betrayal of her mentor that she had trusted and looked up too.
When she finally withheld the images, she watched the reaction of the girl in front of her. A dangerous cocktail of Confusion, anger, and grief mixed together.
"Beatrix..."
"No!"
The headmistress was flung against a wall as the young fairy's magic fluctuated.
"No!"
Raising a shield, the mind fairy protected herself from the blasts. The air magic battered against the barrier forcing the headmistress up against the wall and trapping her. She watched as her student put wave after wave of magic into each attack, the anger on the girls' face was enough for her not to launch her own attack on the young fairy.
Eventually, exhausted and drained of almost all of her magic, the air fairy sank to the ground, breathing heavily.
"My family can't be wrong."
"Beatrix."
The headmistress walked forward, coming down to the same level as her student.
"Your family doesn't have to be wrong, just misguided. They've twisted the version of events that have unfolded into something that they themselves truly believe however untrue it might be."
Gently the elder of the pair reached a hand out to the redhead, leaning forward, her hair falling across her face.
"Let us help you."
The air fairy's eyes rolled slowly upward from the floor, glaring at her headmistress.
"No."
It was quiet, a veiled threat, leaving no time for the mind fairy to get away before her student lunged at her, producing a knife. The redhead grab the closest thing of the mind fairy she could find and slashed her knife through it. The specialist counterpart to the headmistress ran forward, dragging the teenager back ruffly, no longer caring if he hurt the student, placing jagged magic limiters on her wrists and handing her of to another teacher before turning towards his fairy.
Farah sat on her knees, eyes wide, filling with tears. Locks of blonde hair littered the ground around her.
Students watched as their classmate was carried away, laughing, shouting something over taking away the headmistress' feeling of security. They watched as their headmaster stood, shaking with anger in front of his co-head, rage still evident on his face, even as it softened when he looked towards his friend. They saw the pile of hair that had been cut and watched silent, tears drip down the headmistress' cheeks.
They watched as the woman gathered herself, refusing the hand that was offered to her by the headmaster, standing, ordering them back to their classes and disappearing down a corridor.
Locks of hair fell around them as sharp metal teeth trimmed the ragged edges into a neat cut. Hands ran over the headmistress' shoulders, pulling her back into the headmasters chest.
"It'll grow back."
"It was the one thing she couldn't ever take from me."
She sighed and tilted her head upwards to look at her partner.
"Now she has."
A soft kiss is placed on her forehead and the specialist repeats his words with a firmer resolve.
"It will grow back. That's why she can't destroy it. It's too much like you."
"What's that?"
"Annoyingly resilient."
