"You always will be myyyyyyyy summer love."
6:30 AM. I hit my alarm clock and turned it off. Courtesy of One Direction, I can start my mornings off with beauty. Directioners know what I mean.
I hopped out of bed and made my way to the shower. I stopped for a minute to listen and see if Abby was up. Not a sound was coming from her room. I turned on the shower and went to get my clothes as it warmed up. A yellow ruffly shirt with skinny jeans and converse. Nothing special, just an outfit.
After a quick shower, I messed with my hair until it was just right. I put on some makeup and headed downstairs for breakfast. 7:00 AM. I threw my bagel in the toaster and went back upstairs to make sure Abby was up. Sure enough, she was rolling out of her bed like a zombie. Not a morning person. But who is nowadays?
I spread cream cheese on my bagel and sat down at the table with it and a cup of warm tea. Another beautiful day in London. The sun was peaking up and the birds were chirping. If you weren't about to go to school, you might confuse it for being summer. I'm okay with that though.
I finished up breakfast as Abby made her way down to start hers. She was sporting a 1D tee with signature skinny jeans and heels. Her makeup was applied perfectly. The girl dresses to impress.
"Morning sleepyhead!" I ruffled her warm from the straightener hair.
"Don't remind me," she laughed as she poured a glass of tea.
7:15. 30 minutes until we headed off into the torture device they claim to be school. If it was such a safe place then you could go into the bathroom at least to not hear the screams of the innocent. I'll never understand bullies. What do they have against us?
To kill the time, I through in Pitch Perfect. Might as well watch the beginning, better than sitting here doing nothing. Sometimes I question my sanity though. I watch movies so many times that I can quote them word for word. No big deal right? No. The problem is when you take those quotes, the ones perfectly acceptable in movies, and you take them into the real world. Those phrases end up not being acceptable in society. Who knew?
"Aubrey! It's 7:45! Get in the car!" Abby jingled her keys as she pulled me out of the trance known as my thoughts. It was her week to drive.
We drove to school in that awkward silence that's always there between two tired teens. What was there to talk about? We just woke up.
I spent the ride staring out the window, just watching the scenery pass by. My phone vibrating took me from my thoughts. It was Jason.
"Jason: hey aubs meet n the bck hllwy 4 a good time"
"Ugh. Boys are such pigs!" I yelled as I threw my phone into my bag.
"Who's trying to hook up with you this morning?" Abby asked shaking her head.
"Jason. I'm glad I didn't start talking to him in biology. Such. A. Pig," I shook my head and returned to staring out the window.
Soon enough we made it to school. Actually too soon if you ask me. Abby and I parted our ways after retrieving our things for first period from our neighbored lockers. First period. Reading. We can read absolutely anything. I choose fanfics. Might as well read something good if you have to read at all at 8:30 in the morning. Lucky Abby starts off the day with PE. Good way to get woken up. Bad way to smell nice all day. Most girls with first period PE just take their morning showers in the locker room. Better than nothing.
After 72 long minutes of nothing but reading, it was off to second period. I literally had a fangirl hour. Well not exactly. It was study hall but we could leave school. Abby and I have it together so we use our time "studying" One Direction.
Third period biology. Fourth period calculus. Fifth period PE. Sixth period English. The day drug on. My life drug on. 8 hours of my life sucked out of me by droning teachers. I just wanted to go home and watch the Friends marathon. I may watch too much tv but I do live an active life. I have basketball practice on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Then I have dance class on Tuesdays. Saturdays I have cheerleading. Sunday I full out fangirl. Mondays I fangirl and watch tv. Fridays I go out. Eventful life I guess. Keeps me busy. Enough rambling on though.
I flooded out of the school with the mob of other hopeless teenagers. I got to Abby's car before she did. Might as well just wait here. Nobody to talk to. All my other friends kick it high speed out of that place. No luck ever seeing them at the end of the day.
Luckily before I got too lonely standing here, Abby came rushing out of the building. She was holding a flyer in her hand. What was she getting us into this time?
"Aubrey! Look at this flyer!" She practically ran me over and shoved the flyer down my throat. What can be that important? Nevertheless, I read over the flyer.
"A talent show. So what? Schools have talent shows all the time. What's the big deal?" Pointless ink wasted on nice trees. I'm definitely not some hippi tree hugged but seriously, what's the deal?
"Read the fine print! Everyone reads the fine print!" No one reads the fine print Abby. "Special guest judges, Simom Cowell and LA Reid! This is our chance! Maybe if Simon likes us enough, he'll let us meet the boys! Oh my gosh Aubrey are you excited!" Keep in mind she said this at about 100 mph. Maybe 200. I couldn't measure.
"First of all, this contest is a scam. It's 50 dollar entry but a 25 dollar prize. Only an idiot would try this. No offense. Second of all, Simon Cowell wouldn't give us the time of day if we sung like angels in the choir. I had a little hope but you know he won't introduce us to the boys," I tried hard not to crush her. Even though it was a dream she's had for I don't know, five minutes?
"I guess you're right. Sorry for taking so long to get out here... That was a pointless conversation. Get in the car. Lets go get some milkshakes!" Abby said a little too hyper.
We hopped in the car and Abby fired up the engine. I turned the radio up full blast and we let the top down on the car. Pit Bulls song Don't Stop The Party rang throughout the ears of every student left on school grounds. Abby and I screamed the lyrics as me drove to Milkshake City. Home of London's best milkshakes.
"Hi can I help you two beautiful young ladies?" The man at the window smiled and winked.
"Yes please. I'll have a large chocolate with bananas. Add whip cream," my usual order. I never get anything else. I'll switch it up sometime, try something new.
"Okay. And for you my lady?" He smiles again. Interesting.
"I'll take a large vanilla. Add two extra drops of flavoring and some chocolate syrup. Hold the cherry," believe it or not, Abby had this specific order etched into the back of her brain. She would never get anything else. If she did, I'd be more shocked than the Directioner fandom when Haylor was confirmed.
We payed the guy and waited on our shakes. $5.00. The usual price of our order. For such good milkshakes, this place had some low prices.
Abby and I talked about random things until the flirty order boy handed us out our drinks. We thanked him and walked back to the car to drive home while enjoying these delicious shakes. When we got home we jumped up on the couch and curled up in blankets to watch some tv. After a while Abby headed upstairs to study. I followed her up, I had some homework to do anyway. My life can get boring sometimes. I just wish something new would happen to spice it up some.
