The weeks following were a nightmare once Sungyoon started the Ehtyplex period and started taking the novadine pills. It was exactly how Jinhoo told him it would be; draining. It was manageable on the first few days, but the small power surges quickly got out of hand. He would be living his life then all of the sudden, the floor becomes ice. It was bothersome and distracted him, not to mention sometimes outright dangerous. He once almost slipped from the ice floor and since then, he was constantly on guard by Jinhoo to try to prevent accidents from happening when Daeyeol wasn't available. He thought novadine was supposed to prevent him from using dangerous spells, but it turned out, some spells are overlooked and not "dangerous". The constant casting also took a lot of ethernano, therefore, making him weak and exhausted in return. To top it all off, he was scared of physical contact with anyone in fear of freezing them. Again.
It had happened when he had his head on Jinhoo's lap while they were watching a random drama playing on the TV while they waited for their dinner. At one point in the evening, Sungyoon's magic decided to surprise them in the form of freezing Jinhoo's body. It made Sungyoon freak out so much he almost fainted, but luckily Jinhoo managed to break himself out.
When Sungyoon's heart raced back to normal after apologizing over and over for what had happened to him, Jinhoo explained to him that though he was covered in ice, he didn't feel the icy temperature in his skin or pain at all. Not knowing what Jinhoo had said, he asked what it meant. He went on to further explain that the novadine pills did not only lowers the chances of using highly powerful and dangerous spells but also prevents hurting anyone with few exceptions. He lightly smacks him, saying it was useful information he could've told him earlier.
Although it wasn't dangerous, it still scared him enough that he didn't want anyone to touch him until Ehtyplex was over.

His body jolted awake, eyes slowly fluttering open. His stare met with the ceiling. His stomach had started to churn, doing agonizing somersaults from the inside. A burning sensation quickly arose right after from his throat and up. He felt himself break into a cold sweat and the next thing he knew, there was vomit coming out of his mouth. His hand flew over his mouth in an attempt to cover it before more came. He was half asleep before, but now he was fully awake. He tries to get up and gather himself towards the bathroom to avoid more of a mess, but just a moment later, he feels a second wave coming. He couldn't help but puke right then and there.
Daeyeol abruptly woke up to the sound of gagging next to him. With groggy eyes, he looks over beside him to find Sungyoon hurling uncomfortably next to him, the duvet covered with his stomach's contents. His eyes widened with panic. He doesn't dare comment on what happened and rushes to the bathroom. He returns with a trash bag in one hand which he hands Sungyoon. He takes off once more, this time going to the kitchen to grab a cup of water for later. Coming back, he puts the cup on the nightstand before rubbing his younger lover's back to comfort him and as a silent apology for not waking up earlier to help him.
After the final wave, Daeyeol grabs a tissue from the nightstand and wipes the remaining substance from his lover's lips. He hands him the cup of water he had gotten earlier and tells him to drink it.
"I'm sorry about the mess," Sungyoon apologizes, his voice slightly muffled by the pillow he had fallen onto just moments earlier.
"It's okay, no need to blame yourself," Daeyeol assures, gathering the duvet from the bed to the washing machine. "Go clean yourself up."
