They shortly arrived at the Mikage Shrine, and it was by now midnight, Nanami fell asleep as soon as they landed making Tomoe sigh happily at the silence he was about to enjoy.

He brought the young goddess into her room and shortly met up with Y/n who was sitting in front of the pond they had in a fresh batch of clean new clothes.

"My lady." the white fox voiced, a tray in hand as he stared at the goddess happily play with the koi fishes.

She changed into a white plain kimono that was way larger than her courtesy of Tomoe who was more than willing to give her his clothes.

The sleeves were almost falling off of her, the skin showing making her look the more enchanting, her long raven hair was freely flowing behind her. She still had that glowing aura around her.

She had finished taking a bath and was now lounging in their gardens.

"I sincerely apologize for my mistress' brash actions." the white fox apologized as he kneeled in front of her.

"It is quite alright, it's not every day I get to visit other shrines." she replied grabbing his arms gently and hoisted him up so that he should be seating on his knees instead.

"You really do remind me of someone..." she trailed off looking at him with a tilt of her head.

'Who is she talking about...' he thought.

"Is this sake?" she asked looking at the tray beside them, averting the subject once again.

"Oh yes, is it not to your liking?" he asked with a frown already standing up "I shall get you a different-"

"Tomoe," she called out to him, grabbing his kimono gently as she lead the man back down to sit in front of her.

"Calm yourself, sake is more than satisfactory for me." she told him with an amused smiled as she laughed a bit.

"Why don't you just sit down and join me? This sake will surely not be finished by me alone." she said patting the space beside her gently for the white fix to sit in.

Tomoe slowly and cautiously sat beside her, still keeping a big space between them tho which made Y/n laugh.

"Now," she trailed off as she grabbed the white ceramic vase filled with the alcohol which made Tomoe quickly yell in protest "Please my lady! Let me!" he exclaimed gently grabbing the urn from her.

Y/n sighed exasperated, this white fox was too respectful towards her.

But Tomoe had to admit that her presence alone was calming. It was him that stressed himself out.

Y/n was like calm water, just soothing and serene, relaxed, quiet, unruffled and kept her composure and a lid on her emotions.

"My lady," Tomoe started as he shifted his body towards her after countless minutes of debating himself "What is the payment for a wish?"

"It depends."

"H-How so?"

"Well, for starters," she said tilting her head a bit "The price must be of the same value of the wish."

She touched the pond and a beautiful lady made out of water floated in the air in front of them, "If love is what you seek," she created another water figure, this time a man, "You must give me something you love just as much." she said moving her hands hypnotizingly and slowly, making the water figures dance.

"If money is what you desire," she said making the water figures pop gently and conjured a man with a sword instead "Then greed is what you need to bring me."

Tomoe watched the scene in fascination, she moved her hands so gracefully and her powers were outstanding, 'She can also control water?' the white fox thought amazed.

He was like a little child enjoying a show, he looked so amazed and fascinated. The way his eyes focused on the water figures move through the air so smoothly made him gape in awe, he was like a curious child, fascinated and curious in everything.

But her explanation was fearful, he wondered how many people risked their lives for such wishes.

Wishes were hard to be granted and even harder to find who could grant them into reality, but when everyone found out about  Y/n...he could finally understand the severity of what Nanami was bringing to herself.

"If I may ask," Tomoe asked making Y/n look at him, his worried face clear as day, "What was the most used price...everyone gave for you to grant their wishes?"

She smiled at that question, memories flooding in her mind all at once to the era where everyone was desperate and their greed ruled.

"Their lives."
