The ride back to the cottage was weird for some reason. There was something changed in Elion. The friendly demeanor was gone long back. The elion ahead of me was way too professional for my liking. " Elion, what's wrong?" I purposely asked even though it was clearly visible on his face that he wanted to avoid talking as far as possible.
"Que señora."(What madam) he passed a glance at me while focusing back on the sandy road ahead. This was the thing about the Caribbean. Though it was fairly developed still there was a rustic touch to the state which was amiss anywhere else in the world. The feeling of "HOLIDAY". It screamed chilling and relaxation from afar.
"Why are you behaving so rigid? Don't mind it but I feel you are a little bit too uptight recently." I mused removing my phone and opening the camera. Starting a video of the passing by stillness but exotic beauty to send it to my family group after switching off my GPS so that they cant track back my location. I twisted my face while still taking the video to see Elion deep in thought still leaving me unanswered.
"¿Hice algo mal Elion?" I probed further switching of my video and sending it to my family.
" The authorities have put me on probation. I think they know about your meet with my family." He spoke softly almost too softly for me to hear.
"What" I shrieked all of a sudden taking such bizarre news ghastly. How can they put him on probation if I coerced him to do something he never wanted to do in the first place.
"Why didn't you tell me Elion." I asked feeling queasy after hearing how he got affected because of my childishness.
"Está bien señora. Por favor no se preocupe. Trabajaré para recuperar mi trabajo con honestidad" (Its ok madam. Please dont worry. I will work on getting my job back with honesty)
"No, it's my fault. You should have told me the moment you realized you are on probation. It won't take much effort to rectify the mistake I committed." I spoke with new determination. Already writing up an email on the booking email ID asking for a meet-up with the owner of the retreat. They would meet if I was an unsatisfied customer. And right now I was very unsatisfied. These people were high on customer satisfaction. I knew this before I had decided to stay in this place due to high ratings.
"Now that's done and you will be back in a permanent role in no time. Is there anything else you are worried or would you like to go back to the happy and carefree elion till my remaining days are over in the Caribbean?" I playfully smacked Elion's arm turning his attention on me.
"You are really a very good person. un ángel." he smiled a genuine smile after two whole days. I hated people around me who were sad. I instinctively took it upon me to make their worries lesser and make them happy. As much as I could.
"Phssstttt, common now don't make me blush Mexican boy." I laughed putting my phone back in my purse as the jeep came to a stop.
"What's your plan today senora." Elion started walking beside me up the trail to my cottage.
"I don't want to step out you know today after the rough last night. So I was thinking how about I soak in today in the inhouse hot spring." The retreat along with many other natural practices also had a natural hot spring situated at the outlier of the property. I had seen it on the first day of my tour but hadn't had the chance to visit till today.
"That's a good option. So will you be attending the event with kids tomorrow at the orphanage? You Know the celebration is coming in 10 days. And Mr. Ace Campbell really was keen on you attending as this big donor." I covered my face with my hands once again reminiscing the scene which I pretty much would love to happen in real-time instead of my dreams.
Looks like I have an event to attend tomorrow. I was already envisioning something to happen with the hot hunk, actually, I wanted something to happen before I returned home leaving this beautiful place to cherish some memories. Otherwise, I would regret not making a move. Though spending time with kids was an added bonus I thought.

"How is everything working out? Do you think she will be marrying you anytime soon." Mark mused while handing me the files for the overtake of the new hotel empire.
It was easier this way. Mark handling the business while I took care of more important things. It made everything easier to deal with the delicate princess.
"You have no idea how determined I am for this marriage to happen. It's the most important step of my revenge." I looked through the file. Hmm looks like mark is hiring few new staff. I think it's right decision to add new staff and catalyse construction. This was the work will be done lot before then previously anticipated.
"You are doing great mark. I am proud of you." My eyes gleaming with proud I felt for this man standing ahead of me. He was capable and trustworthy.
"What can I say. I learn from the best." He winked walking out of the door making me smile for the cheeky son of bitch.
