Dear Journal,
I leave for church camp tomorrow. All my friends say it is their favorite week of the year. I am obviously taking you with me, so I can write everyday. Today I packed for it all day. I know I am bound to forget something even though I have double checked probably nine times. Emma will not stop talking about how happy she is I am coming. She has gone to church camp every year since she was six. Makes sense since her dad is a pastor and her mom practically runs the church as a side job. I went when I was little but I haven't since I was about eight. Even back then we really only went on Easter and Christmas. I need to go check for the tenth time so, I'll see you at camp.
-Abby <3It is never fun being dragged out of bed. Especially not at four in the morning. And even more so when you have to get on a bus for ten hours after that. In case anyone was wondering that is my plan for tomorrow. Wake up four hours too early, get on a bus for ten hours, and on that bus sit next to Emma, who knows everyone on that bus, none of whom I know. I am going to enjoy my last night at home. My brother will not be enjoying it though because he is way more excited for the next week, when I am gone. Am I shocked he won't stop telling me how many hours until I leave? Not really.
"Abby!" I heard my mother yell from the kitchen downstairs. I started going down the stairs. "Yeah mom?"
"Are you excited?"
"Kind of. I am nervous too. I don't know anyone else on the bus. Emma knows all of them."
"I doubt she knows all of them."
"Mother. Her dad is a pastor, her mother works in the church, she has known those people since birth."
"Still. You should be excited. New people to meet!"
"I guess yeah."
"I just wanted to say goodnight and I love you. Adam is driving you to the church tomorrow and will call you when he gets here."
"You aren't taking me?"
"Adam was free and I have work later that morning so I need the sleep."
"Of course Adam was free it's four in the morning."
"Please be asleep by 12. Or stay up all night, no in between Abby."
"Yeah I know. Goodnight Mom, love you," I walked back up to my room where half of it was in two suitcases and a backpack. I sat on my bed and looked through the list of junk I need for this trip.
At around ten I went into my brothers room, his name is James, and told him, "Bye jerk I'll miss you kind of."
"Bye Abs, I won't miss you but, I still like you."
I left his room and decided to sleep for a little bit so I could get some sleep. Throughout the five hours of sleep I got I tossed and turned and had nightmares of camp. Yay camp.
