"Are you excited?" Winter asked as she took her eyes off the road to look at you as you pulled up to a red light.

One of her hands was on the wheel, the other wrapped in yours as she drove.

"Are you kidding? Winter, I'm beyond excited! This is the first trip we've taken together in months."

"I know." She smiled as she brought your hand to her lips for a kiss. "I've been so busy lately that we haven't spent much time together. So, as soon as I found out I have a few days off I knew it was time for a vacation. It's only a couple of hours from here, so it's the perfect chance for us to also have a little road trip."

You leaned over to kiss her cheek before the light changed and she started to drive again.

You used your other hand to turn up the volume of the radio. You couldn't help but smirk at Winter when you heard Black Mamba playing.

You locked eyes, both of you thinking the same thing as you turned the volume up higher and began to sing along at the top of your lungs.

You were all giggles, holding hands as you sang along to one of your favorite songs.

She giggled when the song came to an end a moment later. You went to turn the volume down, only for her to stop you.

"No, don't turn it down. Turn on another."

You nodded and started to scroll through your songs before turning on one of your favorite songs.

You listen to it so much that Winter knows it like the back of her hand, having every word in every line memorized by now.

You started to sing it together at the top of your lungs, ignoring all the looks from other people in their cars at every red light you'd hit.

You had no shame whatsoever, finding that these moments with Winter don't come around as often as you wished they would.

You rarely get time to take trips together, let alone have some time to just sing along to your favorite songs.

You feel like you don't have a great voice, sometimes shying away when she wants to sing along with you in the car for simple things like trips to the store or driving through town to get some food. She's a great singer, so you don't feel all that confident at times.

But she knows how to get you to open up.

With Winter, you have no reason to be afraid of being judged or being yourself. She's not just your girlfriend, but your best friend. You have so much fun together and love each other just for who you truly are.

These moments are the ones you cherish the most.

You were carried away, having fun in the moment as another song that you adore came on. She bit her lip as a bright smile tugged at her lips. She kept looking from the road and over to you then back at the road.

Of course, she wanted to be safe so you could get to the place you're vacationing at in one piece, but she also wanted to bask in that big smile of yours as you let loose and enjoy the moment.

"Hey! You stopped." You said as you playfully hit her hand.

"Sorry. I got caught up in the sight of you looking so cute and having fun."

You laughed and kissed her cheek once more.

"I love you, Winter."

"I love you more, y/n. It's going to be a great few days. I can't wait to spend them all by your side."

Her words melted your heart.

You quickly turned on another song that you both love and exchanged a look once more before you both began to sing along as loudly as you could, basking in every minute of pure happiness together.
