'Emma! Lunch is ready sweetie!' Emma looked around her, spotting her grandma. Emma is a 16 year old girl, with beautiful brown hair, which she kept in a ponytail. She walked over to her grandma, who was waiting on the porch. 'Oh Emma...did you sleep well last night? You have eyebags again...' Her grandma sighed. 'I had a nightmare...' Her grandma was an old lady, but didn't look old at all. Her name was Carla, and she still had great posture. Carla was around 70. She still had her blonde hair and there were less wrinkles than the average 70 year old. Emma's parents had abandoned her a long time ago. 'The neighbor told me about a girl missing. Zoe, was her name, I believe.' Carla said. 'I feel like I've heard her name before...' Emma said. 'Doesn't Zoe mean warrior, or something like that?' Carla nodded. 'It does. You're such a smart girl.' She smiled. 'Now that we're talking about you being smart, do you have any tests upcoming?' 'Yeah, the test week is not that far away. Speaking about that, after lunch I have to study for biology. It's the first test that I have.' Emma responded. 'Well, I suppose we have to hurry and eat those pancakes, right?' Carla said. Emma smiled and nodded.

Emma walked upstairs to her room. She opened her door, looking around the room. The walls were a soft blue, and there was one large window. There was a small couch in the corner of her room, next to a big bookcase. Her bed was a four poster bed, with dark blue curtains, matching the curtains at her window. Her desk was made of a dark oak wood. The chair had the same wood, but had a blue-green cushion on it. Next to the desk was a small cabinet where she kept her schoolbooks. Emma closed the door behind her and walked over to the desk. She crouched down in front of the cabinet and grabbed her biology books. She then sat down in front of her desk. 'Let's see...' She put on the black desk lamp that was on her desk, and opened her book. 'Chapter 6...point...4.'

It was the first day of the test week. Oh boy, was Emma nervous. She knew that she would pass for every test, but she never has confidence in herself. Emma was the best in biology. She knew what plants where poisonous, and what plants weren't. She knew which plants you could use for medicine, and which created sickness. She knew a lot about sicknesses too. When Emma was older, she wanted to be a doctor. Not a surgeon, or a psychiatrist, but a doctor. Someone who could make people better. 'Emma, sweetie, it's time to go to school, otherwise you'll be late.' Carla broke her out of her thoughts. 'Ah, yes.' Emma gave her grandmother a kiss on the cheek, and waved goodbye. 'Bye grandma! Take care till I'm home!' She yelled, walking away. 'I will, don't worry!' Carla answered. Carla sighed. 'You're such a sweetheart Emma...how do you survive out here?'

When Emma arrived at school, she looked on her phone. 'Aw man...10 minutes early? I wasn't even walking that fast...To the lockers it is then.' The school was pretty big. The walls were very colorful and all had either a message, or graffiti on them. Emma's locker was on the 3d floor. At that locker space, there were a few chairs and there was one couch. Since it was almost summer, the lockers weren't allowed to be used anymore. So, Emma sat down on one of the chairs, and grabbed a book out of her bag, just to revise before the test. 'Well look who we have there! Ugly Emma.' Emma froze. 'Well? Not even going to look at me?' Emma slowly looked up. There was Angelica. She's the typical rich girl. She lives on daddy's money and is very popular. She has a giant mess of blonde hair, which is always in a big ponytail. Her skin is always pale, as if she doesn't go outside enough. She has golden hoop earrings and always wears a necklace. She has a red top and wears white pants. Her blue eyes bore through Emma's. 'Listen, you're going to allow me to look at your test. And if we'll get caught,' Angelica smirks. ',it's about time you get a zero on your report.' Her friends laughed. 'Come on, let's go girls.' She said to her friends. She walked away, laughing. Emma sighed. 'Why does she always need to be so mean to...well, everyone?' She thought. She couldn't continue with her book now. 'Might as well walk to the class.'

When Emma came into the room, she was relieved to see everyone had assigned seats. And her seat was on one side of the classroom, and Angelica's on the other. 'Well, that's calming.' Emma thought. When Angelica came into the classroom, almost too late, she wasn't happy, and tried too promise the teacher money if she could sit next to Emma. However, the teacher wasn't having it, and told her to 'sit her ass down, before she'd get a zero on her test'. Emma was sure she heard the class snicker.
