At a young age you were thought to fish right? Well you also had to make the massive fish deliveries too. So imagine a 6 year old alone walking in a snow blizzard with a basket of large fishes trudging through the snow just to go the village because your parents thought you were old enough already to go make the deliveries AKA they were lazy and decided to send you off to take the deliveries not caring what the weather was like. So you often had cold cracked hands and a sore back but you were sure strong.
Two years later your mother had a baby boy but really didn't want him but decided to keep him but was abusive to you and him. You protected him and was practically more of a mom than she was. Four years later you became 13 and you were a hashira you had gotten home and saw your family massacred you looked frantically for your little brother and saw him with bite chunks in his stomach and arms. You held him in your arms as you let out a blood curtailing cry (cue Emma's scream from TPN). You ran to head quarters and told the master and hashira.
*Later as a hashira*
"I'm sorry about your father." Said Rengoku as obanai agreed with him silently
"If somebody didn't do it, one day or another I would've probably done it myself." You said with tears in your eyes mad
"Your mother, she —" tried to say Mitsuri
"She's not my mother! And my sister — she wanted to lose some weight anyway. Bet she never looked better. She's not even my real sister. Just a half-sister, and not a good half at that." You said crying
"If you couldn't stand them, why are you crying?" Said Shinobu
"Because they killed my brother! What the hell did he do? Four years old... he never used to cry. He just used to sit next to me and cuddle. I was more of a mother to him than that goddamn pig ever was!" You cried
