Her Fleeting Love

Prologue

"Is there still a chance, Jaize?" I pleaded while kneeling in front of him.

I cried my heart out, waiting for his response. His face remained emotionless, even his eyes. It was different.

"Wala, so stop being desperate Millicent" He said without hesitation. It was a cue for me to leave so I turned my back and walked away from him.

Grabe. After all these years of longing him, ito ang mapapala ko. I know for a fact na may kasalanan ako pero do I deserve this? 

I was about to talk to him again, baka kaya pa... baka pwede pa...

Yet, destiny is really mischievous.

"Millie, halika na! Baka may makakita sayo riyan!" My personal assistant dragged me out of a sudden.

"Please, Connor. Let me see him. I'll sign off the contract, I'll  quit this fucked up industry!" I exclaimed all of my wrath towards him.

Connor was always patient with me, with everything that I do. Pero ngayon, he's different. He vented out all of his frustrations sa akin ngayon. I was perplexed by his actions. 

"Anak ng.. Millie! Gumising ka naman! You are on your peak, this was the dream Millie. Ngayon ka susuko, just for him? Is he that worthy, Millie?" He pled.

Dream? Do I even have a dream back then? All I know was I am carrying all the burden of everyone. I am always following their whims. How about mine? How about my happiness?

"He is the dream, Connor. Always him.." I responded defeatedly.

I saw the disappointment in his eyes. I know, it may sound disappointing and cliche but he raised the bar so high. To the extent, he became my dream. Only a dream...

"Is he the reason why you entered this industry Millie?" Connor asked. 

I don't know what came up to this man but he sounded so hurt. Did I made him guilty or what? If he's guilty, he shouldn't be. I pursue the entertainment industry because of my choice, never influenced by his.  I hate the thought that maybe he is blaming himself on what's happening to me right now. I am responsible of my faults, no one to blame.

"Yes, so don't be guilty" I gave him the assurance that he might need.

I smiled at him to alleviate the tension, he smiled back. Then, hugged me. It was comforting. The warmth of Connor's embrace felt like Jaize's...

"Millie... You can take an hiatus. I'll settle everything, just be happy." Connor almost whispered on my ears. 

After saying all of those comforting words, umalis siya... Without saying goodbye, he left.

I almost forgot nasa public place pala kami, ako nalang pala. I was about to call my driver when I saw Jaize with his new loveteam, Martha Alvarez, coming towards my direction. I was about to runaway, yet my feet betrayed me. I remained standing then realizations fill in my subtle thoughts.

They look good as a couple. On cam or off cam, everybody shipped them.

Unlike ours back then...

"Excuse me, miss..." Martha uttered.

"Bakit?" I tried to remain calm kahit na nakakaiyak na ang mga titig ni Jaize sa akin.

"You are blocking our way, my boyfie is starving..." Hindi nakatapos si Martha sa kanyang sasabihin dahil sumingit si Jaize.

"It's okay Martha, sa iba nalang tayo kumain. Nawalan na rin ako ng gana..." He said.

I was about to cry in front of them yet I know it was a weak move. 

Hence, I move forward to them. Taste my wrath, Lloen Jaize.

"Is that how you talk to your ex-girlfriend, Jaize?" I said proudly then took off my mask and shades.

I saw the amused face of my ex-boyfriend and the shocked face of his girlfriend. My weak phase was done, minutes ago. It's now or never.

"Millie?" Martha asked in nervousness.

"Yes, Martha. I am. EUNOIA MILLICENT ELEAZAR, your boyfie's ex" I tried to reach my hand to  her but when she tried to receive it, I quickly put my hand in my pocket.

She smirked on what I did and walked away because of embarrassment. Jaize was about to follow her yet I held his hand.

This is my last resort, if he despises me that much. I am left with no choice.

"MILLIE! I SAID STOP, HINDI KA BA NAKAKAINTINDI? I THOUGHT YOU WERE A LAWYER? ISN'T STOP NOT ENOUGH FOR YOU TO STOP LINGERING AROUND MY WORLD? HINDI KITA MINAHAL  NOON! GUSTO MO BA ULITIN KO--" He yelled at me. It was enough for me.

I slapped him, very hard. I don't care if someone saw us. I don't care if my career will be tainted because my heart is so full right now.

"How dare you tell that to me after asking for me for marriage... How dare you tell me that after..." Hindi ko na natapos ang aking mga sinabi dahil naiyak na ako. 

I was left again. He left me again. This time, in front of a huge crowd.

I can't stand because the people were rushing towards me and in a fleeting moment everything turned black and weightless. 

It felt like our love, fleeting.

A love I never wished to have.  

A love I can't let go.
