A couple months went by since everything happened. The winter weather had passed and it was now spring, not only did the season change but also my age; I was 18 now.
I visited Bamboo every weekend, and he even visited me a bit on earth. It was an interesting couple of months! My father and I decided when I finished the school year I could go with Bamboo. It wasn't something I thought about till recently; as ever since I got to that other world I wanted to leave it as soon as possible..
The decision came to mind as USB offered me to work with him; ever since his work partner passed he hasn't had anyone to help him out. USB thought I was good with working with machinery, so my tinkering with electronics ever since I was young finally paid off.
Another thing that made my decision final was the way my dad and I lived, of course I somewhat got used to eating this strange diet but it wasn't something normal on Earth; and since my dad crossed the portal he now has to deal with the same I do. It would be better to move just to live easier and smoother.
So as our decision came to a conclusion, we started packing a bit.
-
Summer came around.
I grabbed the staple gun and removed the final poster that hung in my small room.
"Gonna miss this place." I chuckled as a put a rubber band over the rolled up poster.
I tossed the poster in a small box. I didn't have much to take, most of the stuff I put in the boxes was to give to local thrift store. I had one large suitcase and that was mostly it.
The room was empty now, everything in boxes packed away. I sighed; moving was always hard for me. I was going to miss Cassie, I even was giving her the transporting machine; we were leaving and had no where else to put it so she offered to keep in safe for us and so I could visit her sometimes.
"Poe! You ready?" My dad shouted from the other room.
He walked in my room looking around, "wow! You packed up everything quick.. considering your room was a mess" he laughed.
"Hey! It wasn't that bad!" I rebutted.
"Whatever you say.. well I guess we are technically ready!" My dad smiled and nudged my back in excitement.
"Yep! Oh yeah, did you leave a note for Cassie? She said she would come by tonight to pickup this thing." I asked while pointing at the machine.
"Yes, of course I did; don't know why I would forget-" He smirked.
I nodded and thanked him.
"Well, I guess it's time to go!" I said awkwardly and walked towards the machine.
I fixed it up a bit to look somewhat nicer; the cabinet of the machine was polished nicely showing a sleek shine.
I gripped my bag and threw it in the blackness and I soon followed.
I smiled as I walked through seeing Bamboo waiting for me on the other side.
The wind blew softly and the sun slowly went behind the mountains in the distance. The grass had a sweet smell of dew, I stood there silent for a second taking it all in. My feet kicked off the ground as a lunged and hugged Bamboo.
"I'm glad I'm here with you.." I chucked and tightened my arms around them.
"And I'm glad to have met you.. I love you." Bamboo teared up and returned my hug.
