Next Morning...
I laid in the bed playing in Essence's hair as she slept on me. She snored lowly with one arm wrapped around my waist.
It's very peaceful when she's sleep.
My peace got cut short when there was a knock on the door. When I tried to get up, Essence tightened her grip making me huff.
"Someone at the door" I said as she adjusted her head on me.
"Fuck them" she mumbled making me smack my lips.
"Essence move" I whined making her huff before getting off me.
"Thank you" I mumbled as I got out of the bed making her stretch out. I quickly went to the front door and opened it seeing my 6-year-old sister standing there with a wide smile.
What the fawk???
"Kennedi, I missed you" she squealed before hugging me making me bend down and hug her back.
"I missed you too. Where's Khalil and Grandma at" I asked as I let her go.
"They in the car arguing. I'm not supposed to tell you tho" she told making me scrunch my face up as I closed my door.
"Why are they arguing" I asked as she walked to my kitchen.
"Khalil doesn't like you no more. He said you're just like mom.......Can I have this" she asked holding up a bag of family-size Doritos making me nod.
"When he say that" I asked as she opened the fridge. She looked in it before pulling out a soda and smiling to herself.
"Before Grandma told me to come knock on the door. She said you probably wouldn't answer" she said as she closed the fridge.
"Well, do you think I'm like Mom" I asked as she walked to me. She handed me the soda making me open it and pass it back.
"I can't remember mom, so I don't know" she said before taking a sip of her drink.
Glad you don't.
"Do you do drugs like mom? Khalil said you do. I asked Grandma and she told me to stay in a child's place and what you do ain't my business" she said.
As she should!
Before I could answer, there was another knock on the door making me open the door.
"Hey y'all" I greeted looking at my grandma and little brother.
"Goodmorning" my grandma said before they both walked in.
"Hey Khalil" I said as he ignored me and sat on my couch.
Fuck you too.
"Kennedi said hi" Patience informed sitting next to him making him look at her with a slight mug.
"I heard her" he mumbled before getting on his phone. I shook my head before closing the door and walking to my grandma as she eyed my kitchen.
