"Great job everyone!" The staff exclaimed. The five of us bowed to all of them, they were happily cheering.
I felt Youngmi's arms wrapping around my still slightly shaking form. I really did it, I'd debuted. My mind still hadn't let the fact sink in. February 23th, 2017 was going to be a day I'd never forget. The anxiety while going up on stage for the very first time, it was scary I'll admit, but it was the most thrilling experience I'd ever encountered. I was still shaking slightly from the amount of exhilaration and nervousness.
"I can't believe we actually did it, I'm so proud of us," Youngmi sobbed onto my shoulder. I rubbed her back in reassurance, "We should be the most thankful to you, miss leader."
"After Black Rose's spectacular debut stage," the five of us shifted our attention to the screen in the room as the MC mentioned our group's name.
"Let's give it up for BTS, for their comeback stage with Spring Day," the MC spoke with his cue cards imitating pompoms cheering for BTS.
"Ah! BTS are performing," Aera squealed as the screen was now showing a pink-haired man who opened the choreography, which gradually led over to a cotton-candy-haired man who sand the opening verse, j-hope.
The seventeen-year-old maknae, Aera was quite evidentially an ARMY before a musician. I looked over at her, she was still looking at the screen in awe. I smiled and walked away, she's such a baby.
"Okay we need you on stage after BTS' performance, you're nominated and have about two minutes and a half," the PD peeped through the door and told the five of us.
My eyes widened. "We're nominated?" Youngmi choked out. The PD hummed in response. "This day just keeps getting better," Youngmi sang out.
Minjung and Jia took off their mics and once all of us were ready for the winning ceremony, the staff led us into the hallway where all the other groups were waiting to get on stage as well. As the ad break rolled off after BTS' performance ended, the seven boys made their way backstage for a water break and to take off their mics. Everyone else walked through the dark-clothed area and climbed up the stair to the main stage.
"BTS we need you up with the other nominees in fifty seconds," I heard the PD tell the band currently scrambling to get their makeup, and hair slightly retouched.
"They look even better in person, just look at them," Aera tried not to scream from behind me.
She was right however, seeing them on TV was a daily routine in our lives, but never in my wildest dreams did I think they'd look even better in person.
