Welcome my children to this little old project of mine!

As some of you know, I like to participate in art contests on wattpad. The themes are often awesome as can be, the pictures are always nice and I love seeing how different people interpret those kinds of themes or topics in their own way, and then translate that into an image.

Quite often, the person hosting the contest will offer critique, or at least some form of it as a prize in the end. And in theory this is a great idea, I just personally often find, that the critique sometimes lacks a bit. It's not seldom that people would say "Yep, great image, nothing wrong with it" whilst I personally see some problem areas that could definetely be worked on.

I will try my very best to give you some constructive criticism with paintovers, examples and overall advice for one or several pieces of yours >w< So if you think you're kinda stuck with your art or just wanna know what else you could improve, co...

I will try my very best to give you some constructive criticism with paintovers, examples and overall advice for one or several pieces of yours >w< So if you think you're kinda stuck with your art or just wanna know what else you could improve, come along :D

Also note that constructive criticism includes pointing out subjects that are great, so don't think I'll mindlessly roast your art. Everything is made for every level of artist, so I won't confront an absolute beginner with colour theory, composition and ambient inclusion, but will indeed go ahead and try my best, when it comes to artists where most people just say "woah, perfect" since I think every artist can improve in some way, and I'm just here to help yall out >w<

So I hope you find this thing intruiging enough to read on, on how exactly I imagine this to happen:

1. Somehow you tell me that you want me to critique your stuff. This can happen via dm, a comment (like... either in this or my artbook...) ... maybe not my notice board, but if you want to... I ain't stoppin ya!

2. Then I agree to critiquing you, after which you then tell me what you want. Essentially I can go ham on just one piece of yours, or you tell me the name of your artbook and I'll try to find some general areas of improvement, or maybe you're unhappy with an oc design and I'll help you out on that front ^-^

3. I... uh... sit down and... chop your art into pieces and stick em back together, covering everything in glitter to make it seem as though nothing happened

4. You'll get a chapter uploaded here (dedicated to you and you only) where I will present you what I found and how I think you could improve or proceed in your works.

Voila! Easy 4-Step plan I got there, right?
Welp... no offering without some rules or general things you should keep in mind:

1. Gore is okay, nsfw... to a certain degree... I don't wanna be publicly critiquing porn folks

2. Since I am critiquing everything, I cannot help but also bring in my subjective values. I will try my very best to keep things as open and objective as possible, but just keep that in mind.

3. All my critiques are just critiques and suggestions. You don't need to follow or listen to anything that I say. If I accidentally critique something that's your style, just say so and I'll go ahead and edit my critique to be more fitting :)

4. Everyone here... be respectful and nice please. Also, if you came here to be critiqued, don't expect me to just pat you on the back and shower you with compliments. Everything here will be constructive, and compliments will come along, but don't yell at me, when I say you have wonky anatomy.

5. By submitting your art, you are willing to follow all of these rules, and accept me as your new father, since whoever is reading this is my child now o-o

(also... you can only sumbit 5 works at once, if you don't want some general critique for your art, but like... I ain't stopping you from coming along every week with five new pieces... so... no limit to participating :D Who knows... imagine if you came along every month and I got to tell you how much you improved... dang... how fun would that be?!)

Welp! Hopefully I can get someone to come along

Welp! Hopefully I can get someone to come along... dang it would be embarrassing if I published this book and absolutely nobody out there would want critique or advice...

So pls don't be shy... I just wanna help yall out, because you're amazing and critique is insanely important for your artistic journey :')

Um..

>>sits you down next to the new campfire, gives you a stick with marshmallows and a hot chocolate, before carefully laying a blanket around your shoulders and a warm hug<<

Hope ya like the new imaginary campsite I put up not too far away from the treehouse ^-^
