3rd Person P.O.V.

Nina's eyes fluttered open. They were exposed to the light.

"Where am I?" Nina whispered. She set her hand down next to her to prop herself up. Instead of her hand coming in contact with the floor, her palm landed on something sticky. She glanced downward at the floor. It was Nate, his hand was covered in a sticky substance, one whiff determined that it was peanut butter.

"Crap!," Nina whispered and tried to wipe it off onto Nate's shirt. Her actions woke up her brother. As he sat up, he shoved a sandwich in her direction. "You haven't eaten in a while" he said softly, "Hurry up and eat it before we both get in trouble,"

Nina would have gratefully taken the sandwich if it hadn't been for one thing.

"I'm allergic to peanuts, stupid," she snapped. She knew she probably shouldn't have snapped at him, he was only trying to help, but he was a part of the problem, he didn't deserve her respect.

Nate looked back and forth between her and the sandwich before saying, "Shoot, forgot about that," His eyes drifted away.

"Can you get that away from me maybe," she said.

"Where is that idiot of a son!?" a shrill voice that could only be their mother called out. Nate stumbled to his feet and disappeared up the steps.

"If I did actually have some supernatural abilities, this would be the perfect time for them to come out," Nina muttered. She glanced down at the cuffs on her wrists.

Nina's P.O.V

I heard the door slam up above. It was the only person yet to make an appearance.

My father.

I couldn't help thinking that this was all his fault. I mean, wasn't it?

I didn't dare look at him, all I did was stare at my wrists, there was nothing else that I could do. I felt his eyes on me.

Pure hatred emitted from him, I wish I knew what I had done.

"Hello Nina, " he said, there wasn't a single drop of emotion in his voice. I still didn't look up at him. "Nina," he frowned, "Look at me when I speak to you!" he snapped. I didn't move a muscle. I could tell that this angered him even more. He thrusted out his arm and grabbed my chin. He then yanked my face upwards so that I was facing him. Even though, I was directed his way, I refused to look him in the eye.

"Since you have been of no help to us, you will be disposed of," his breath smelled of oranges. I wish I could have an orange. Aren't mean people supposed to smell like bad things like smoke or alcohol?

The sound of his voice snapped me out of my mental debate, "Do you hear me?!" he shouted as he dropped my head. I didn't respond, so he got up and left. I was alone in my misery once again. I bet not one person in the world understood what I was going through. I was completely and utterly alone.

"Your not alone,"  a voice said. At the sound of that, I snapped my head upwards and scanned the room. "Where are you?" I asked, "Who are you?" I couldn't see anything other than the dank cellar walls.

"It doens't matter yet. Just focus on the cuffs," I don't know why, but I actually trusted the voice, so i stared at the cuffs on my wrists.

Within I matter of moments, my eyes began to feel hot, the cuffs were turning white, but my wrists didn't burn. After a few seconds the cuffs had melted to the shape of rocks.

I was free, but I didn't know what to do.

"Get up," the voice whispered, I obeyed. I didn't know if it was the right thing to do, but I had nothing to lose.

 3rd Person P.O.V.

Nina slowly crept to the door. She was careful enough not to make a sound.

The door soundlessly swung open, "Score!" Nina thought.

She instantly forgot about the door when she met a familiar pair of eyes staring at her.
