The hotel on it's self wasn't hard to find. Small signs led me there easily. The only challenge to bear was navigating through the mass of red clothed residents.
Not even after 10 minutes after followingthe first sign, we were standing in front of our temporary home. I couldn't afford a five star all included hotel but it looked very cute with its small balcony and plants overgrowing the rustic roof tiles.
Still admiring the cosy exterior, Koda and I made our way in. An older woman looked up from the register and gave us a rapt smile.
"Benevenuta la signora! How can I help you?"
"Buongiorno. I booked a room online."
Placing my baggage and Kodas box on the ground, I fished out the the printed affirmation for my room of my purse.
"Ah! Come no. You must be Miss Baker, am I right?"
"Yes I am."
"Your room is number 3. Currently there are no other guests so you should have no problems with disturbances. I will give you the key...bueno."
Turning to a wooden shelf with about 6 departments, the friendly woman swept an golden key off one hook and handed it over to me."
"Your curfew is at 8 p.m European time and lights should be out at 10. There is no sneaking in il signore la signora. Have a good stay!"
"Thank you very much miss. I will be going up to my room!"
"Arrivederci!"
Blushing slightly, I began to rise up the narrow stairs and heaved the baggage up one by one. After opening the door with the key, I stacked everything on top of the double bed and took a seat, panting ever so slightly.
Koda hadn't woken up yet so I decided to explore the city for a short while and check out the tower Bella was so obsessed with earlier.
Stepping out into the streets, I followed the chants of the people to the big plaza. In the meantime, it had cleared up a bit and I could now walk through to the opposite side.
Reaching the tower wasn't the easiest but at least I didn't have to claw by way through the mass.
Up close, nothing seemed out of the ordinary except a big wooden door. Peaking through, there was a hallway into the unknown.
Still debating if I should go in or not, an alluring and mystical voice spoke up.
"I see your interested in the architecture of this amazing build. I'm sure we could have a lot of fun if you join."
This voice. It was almost hypnotic.
Slowly turning around, I saw a group of tourists like me below the steps. The guide possibly was the hottest woman I have ever laid eyes on.
"My name's Heidi. Think about it for a few seconds, I'd hate to go without such a snack."
As if I was controlled by her charm, I nodded my head and queued up at the back. Nobody can tell me that wasn't hot right now. She called me a Snack!
A few moments after everyone was in line, we headed down the darkening hallway. The further we walked down different turns and halls, the structures seemed to date back in time.
Walking through these imposant arches and high hallways sure was impressive but as time went on, I really had to go on the toilet. During the ride and flight I barely had any opportunities.
Heidi was in no sight, as she was the head of our Group and I was all the way in the back. Pushing through to her might need it's time. Time I didn't have.
Ineviatable I had to either wet my pants or sneak off to find a toilet.
Choosing the latter and quietly making my way down to the left, I opened every door in hopes of releaving myself.
Finally!
Scrambling into the bathroom, I let out a small sigh just before there would've been an accident.
A few moments after finishing, a small noise you could have easily missed, alarmed me of another presence. It couldn't be another tourist, I was pretty sure nobody followed me.
Peaking out of the toilet, my face was met with a clothed body. Slowly taking in his dangerous aura and daring to glance up, a man with blood red eyes and a pretty face snarled down at me.
"What is wrong with your eyes?! Who are you? "
""Silencio!"
Growling like an animal, he packed me at my collar and sped us away faster than sound. My stomach felt queasy and the muffins stirred. My face had more similarities to a sheet of paper than normally. I really wanted puke.
Just before we could enter through a very big and very old door, I heard the screams.
My toes curled at the bloodcurling screams and gruesome gurgeling sounds. These people that slowly drowned in their own blood and those who tried running away but ended up with the crunching sound of broken bones.
It had to be like one of those theatralic and very dramatic endings of storys and tales. The death of Patroclus paired with the wallowing sounds of Achilles or the silencing ending of Juliette.
The next few seconds of crunching bones and dying People gave me the rest. My face, wet with tears and snodder, buried itself in the coat of this stranger to empty the contents of my stomach.
"Ungrateful Human!"
