PART One: Where On Earth?

3:29pm

Poof! I woke up, with nothing but a flat blanket of sand around me. I was terrified. I stood up, my legs shaking and my hair a terrible mess. I didn't know what to do so first I took a long look around me. Eventually, I saw, what looked like a jungle, in the distance. I dipped my finger in the sand below my feet and, sure enough, it was hot. I took a long, slow walk down to the jungle. When I got there I looked at my small, gold watch, and the time was 4:30pm. So that meant it had took me ninety minutes to get to the jungle. All there was in the jungle was nothing but towering trees and small bushes. I kept by the edge of the jungle as I didn't want to get lost in there. There was a few thick vines tangled around a few of the massive, thick trees. I saw a set of vines that made their way all up a tree. I decided to climb them. When I had got about half way up the tree I decided to stop and rest on another smaller tree that was in contact with the massive one. Now, I had absolutely no food or water. I even checked in my backpack and there wasn't anything in there apart from a pencil, and I can't do anything with a pencil. I took off my backpack and let it rest on part of my small tree. My small tree was about thirteen feet high, so I thought I would be safe here for the night.

10:35pm

It's now 10:35pm and I'm still in my small tree. I think I got a bit of sleep, but I'm still a bit tired. Prsh! An arrow burst right into the tree, but luckily just under my foot. I pulled it out, and it was a perfectly normal arrow, but what was scaring me was the thing that shot the arrow. I sat up looked around at the ground, but I couldn't see anything except for grass and bushes. "Hello?!" I shouted. I got no answer apart from a clatter of bones, it sounded like. But I didn't know for sure. "Hello!!? Is anybody there?" I shouted again.

"Ssshhh! You'll draw too much attention to yourself! We don't want that happening out here!" replied an unfamiliar voice. Who was it? Why was he/she here? I climbed down from my small tree using the vines of the large tree. I wondered around for a bit then, I guess the guy was looking for me as well, and found him. He was a tall person and he had dirty, and from what I could see, messy ginger hair. He wore a grey shirt and some dark blue jeans. He wore black shoes. "Come over here! Follow me! I have a base just through here!" he said.

11:05pm

Well here I was, in James's base. 'Base' was part of a tent tied to two branches off trees going down round to the ground, with two sticks holding it in. Inside was a chest and I asked James if he'd let me look inside the chest. He said yes so I opened it. Inside was two wooden swords and a few sticks. I asked him if I could use one of the wooden swords and he said yes. I took the sword on the left, but I wish I took the one on the right as my one was covered in blue blood and some green skin, I think. Then James said, "The arrow from earlier was that of a skeleton."

"A skeleton? How?" I replied.

"Well, it's a long story, but I'm gonna tell you anyway. I heard a story about this island from my great-grandad before he sadly died. He said that there was an island far far away, that was still undiscovered. The island was unlike any other. The island was hit by a tiny asteroid that was accidentally hit in a nuclear bomb explosion. When the asteroid crashed it only made a small explosion. The explosion covered the whole island. Then all the living plants and trees were turned into evil monsters that do nothing but kill. The monsters are zombies, skeletons with bows, giant killing spiders and green Creepers that sneak up on you and explode." That completely scared me. I knew this was now super hard survival.

7:14am

This morning I woke up before James, so I went and practiced with my blue-blooded sword. I felt a bit bad about not asking him first, but I had fun. First, I went into the desert, as I can now remember where James's base is. Then I saw a large chicken on its own, so I thought that because it was on its own I would kill it for food. I had my blue-blooded sword gripped in my hands ready to kill. I ran towards the chicken, full speed, and swung my sword, full on, with full power and knocked the head clean off. "Well done. I think your a natural." Said James, scaring the life out of me, and also clapping slowly. I walked up to James and showed him the dead chicken. He said he was very proud of me as this was my first kill. He then asked me, for another challenge, to pull off the feathers and show it to him. I thought this was a bit gross, but I guess I have to do it if I want to eat it. So I pulled the feathers off and cut off all the parts you wouldn't normally eat like the legs and neck. I gave it to James, and since he didn't have a fire, he said my next challenge was to collect firewood and start the fire with the flint and steel he had gave me. I walked into the forest and dug around inside the bushes and found a couple pieces of firewood. I did this for a while and got enough firewood for a fire. It was going dark now, so I got my firewood and ran back to base. I piled the wood by base and grabbed the flint and steel and started to scrape them to make sparks. Eventually, it worked and we had a roaring fire. Me and James sat down and cooked some chicken breast on the fire. "So, how are you enjoying this survival thing?" asked James.

"Well, in the day I suppose it can be fun sometimes, but at night I guess it's going to be terrifying." I answered.

"You know those monsters I told you about? Well they were the only ones my great-grandad knew of, but he said there is a lot more than just those," James replied.

"I'm will be guarding first so you can get some sleep," I said. James seemed pretty happy about that so he went to sleep.

12:13am

It's now been two hours since James went to sleep, and there has been no sign of any monsters yet. I wondered if there was something going on, or the monsters decided not to come here tonight. Then my eyes flickered to the movement of a zombie. Its face a dark green with specks of mouldy brown and purple. Its mouth dripping with dark red blood and its walk more of a slow stagger. It looked hungry and it was only a few metres away from base. It was probably guaranteed it would see me and go for me. I stood up slowly, my blue-blooded sword gripped tight. I sneaked slowly to it. Then it saw me! I ran towards the zombie and the zombie staggered towards me. My heart was beating fast as I could be killed here. I swung my sword which caused a large slice in the zombies green arm. Dark red blood started pouring out of the wounded zombies arm. Then it went for me and tried to bite me with its yellow teeth but I swung my sword again and it smacked into the zombies head, and then blood started running out of its head too. The zombie fell to the ground with a small thud. Now I was confident that I could kill easily.

7:20am

I didn't bother to wake James up last night, and I took the night guarding all night. I didn't see anything but that one zombie, and James thought it was a bit weird too. I still felt sick from the sight of that zombie last night. It was still in the same place from last night, but James said that when the sun was higher up in the sky that it would burn until there was nothing left of it.

5:16pm

The crackling of pork on a fire woke me up from a mid-day nap. I saw James had killed a pig and started cooking some. "Hi" I said to James.

"You do know you've been asleep for five hours?" Said James.

"I don't think it matters as I didn't go to sleep last night. I'm going to get some more food," I said to James.

James agreed to let me go. I ran off out of the jungle with my blue-blooded sword.
