Chapter 10: Surprise at Dinner

Li was walking to the Dining Hall and was still thinking about the conversation that happened earlier.

Li- (thoughts) Was I too harsh?

Li pondered this as he walked into the Dining Hall but his thoughts did not last long because he entered the room to find Po standing in front of the table near the entrance with a noodle on his lip and everyone excluding Tigress looked like they were about to burst out laughing.

Po- (imitating Shifu) You'll never be the Dragon Warrior, unless you lose 500 pounds and brush your teeth!

The Five that were ready to burst lose it as Li walks in. Li goes to the kitchen and makes himself a bowl of soup and sits down at the opposite end of the table from Po. He then notices that Crane had his wing around Akemi, who had started blushing, and gave them a confused look. Tigress notices Li and her eyes widen in surprise as Po continues.

Po- (still imitating Shifu) What is that sound you're making? Laughter? I've never heard of it! Work hard, Panda! And maybe someday, you'll have ears like mine!

Po raises two empty bowls above his head to represent Shifu's ears and everyone except Tigress laughs hard. Li almost chokes on his soup and then looks up and sees Shifu standing almost next to Po who was still standing there imitating him.

Li- (looks at Akemi) This ought to be good.

Akemi- (confused) What do you mean?

Akemi and the Five finally notice the red panda standing next to Po and they immediately stop laughing and widen their eyes in shock.

Po- (still not noticing Shifu) Ears! Not doing it for ya? I thought they were good.

Monkey- (trying to whisper) It's Shifu!

Po- Of course it's Shifu, what do you think I'm doing?

Everyone was looking at the two pandas with their mouths agape as Po continued to not get the hint. Li lifts his arm and points at Shifu and Po follows the direction he was pointing and finally sees him.

Po- (surprised) Master Shifu!

Po places the bowls on his chest making it look like a bra and sucks in the noodle from his lip. Most of the table attempts to hold in their laughter with Monkey going as far as putting his hands on his mouth.

Shifu- You think this is funny?! Tai Lung has escaped from prison and you're all acting like children!

Everyone looks at him in shock.

Akemi- Wait, What?!

Li- I knew there was a catch!

Shifu- He's coming for the Dragon Scroll and you three are the only people that can stop him!

The bowls on Po's chest fall to the ground as everyone is still in shock. Po starts to awkwardly laugh.

Po- And here I'm saying you have no sense of humor. Me, Akemi, and Li are going to..

Shifu gives him a stern gaze, clearly looking like he was serious.

Po- Wait, are you serious?! We have to...uh...Master Oogway will stop him! He's done it before, he can do it again!

Akemi nods in agreement as Li looks at the staff that Shifu is holding and his eyes widen.

Akemi- Yeah! He has to, right?

Li- He can't.

All of them look at him confused.

Shifu- (softly) Not anymore.
