"My queen. Your brother Kiev is nowhere to be found. We've searched every room. Not a note. Not a sound." A red-bearded guard spoke to the nervous queen in her bedroom.
"You useless son of a bitch. You BETTER find him! He had errands for me! We have love to share." Adina paced. Her light purple dress dragged slightly against the marble floor.
Frowning, she gripped his wrist tightly. He yelped in pain. He looked physically stronger, but she had magical powers on her side.
"P-please my queen! Let me go! It hurts!" Red beard was now on his knees, face tight and eyes closed. His heart pounded.
"I'm so sorry." She let go instantly. Her eyes were big and innocent. She held the look of innocence but didn't have a heart of innocence.
"My queen. I understand your anger." Red looked up at her, confused, rubbing his sore wrist. He slowly stood. His metal armor shaking slightly. He swallowed hard.
"You are a strong young man, Phil." Adina smiled and placed a soft hand on his cheek.
Phil blushed slightly. His eyes trailed to her chest and hips.
"Men like you are so important to me. Shut the door." She whispered in his ear.
"I-I have a wife. A lovely...wife. Two beautiful children." Phil rubbed his neck, removing his gloves. Her trance working on him. This was a dream. He knew it had to be.
She lowered her dress slightly. She wrapped her arms around his neck. "Close your eyes." She spoke gently. He did so without question.
He thought he'd feel her sweet lips touch his, but instead felt a sharp, stinging pain in his neck. Gasping for air, he opened his eyes. Warm blood poured down his armor.
Adina's teeth chomped into his throat. They didn't feel like human teeth. Her teeth had extended and pointed within this swift and bloody gesture. He collapsed to the ground.
Adina drank his blood, his flesh coating her mouth. Once she was done, she left Phil's body on the floor and wiped her mouth, her teeth returned to normal.
She needed essence. Once a year, she either needed to have intercourse or to suck the blood out of a young host. It was the deal she made long ago when she was just a teenager. Also, the feeling was refreshing. Like stepping out of a warm bath.
She left her bedroom and called for a meeting with all her guards. Her men would perform an entire sweep of the kingdom. Going into homes, bars, stores-Kiev was her most important ally. And no one dared to speak against her. No one wanted their souls sucked out by the Siren.
