Chapter 2

Nandini's pov:

After Manik left for the office we settled into the living room talking when a voice echoed in the hall.

"Bhabhii" Juhi came running from the main door with her husband Akash.
She came and hugged me"Happy Birthday Bhabhi '' she wished cheerfully making me chuckle.

"Thank you Juhi" I replied pulling her cheeks on which she made an oww face rubbing her cheeks

"Happy birthday bhabhi" Akash wished me softly. I don't know why Manik doesn't like him. He is sweet and gentle. Anyways we all sat in the living room but my mind was tossing on only one person i.e. Manik I don't know why it feels like something is gonna happen today.

The whole day passed in a blink ,all the preparations for the party were going on which obviously Manik had organised.
I was standing in front of the main gate waiting for him anxiously .

"Nandu" I turned Navya bhabhi standing with Aditi

"Nandu..go get ready" Navya said

"Not now bhabhi please after some time" I pleaded without shifting my gaze from the gate

"Bhabhi the party is about to start" Aditi said.

"Plzz Aditi. Let Manik come then I will get ready" I said stubbornly.

"Bhabhi Manik bhai ka message aaya, he is asking to get you ready in the dress which he had sent" She said forwarding the dress. Manik had texted her for this but he hadn't texted me for one hour. Let him come.

"Bhabhi/Nandu" they shook me to bring me out of my thoughts

"Go get ready, " bhabhi said. I nodded and took the dress from Aditi and went upstairs.

I took out the dress from the box. Wow it is beautiful but again red, Manik and his obsession for red .Shrugging all the thoughts I changed into the gown after a long shower of 1 hour. I applied a little makeup and made curls .

I walked down but he was still not here .I don't know why I am getting negative vibes that something is going to happen.

I saw Harshad bhai coming from the door I sighed in relief

"Bhai, where is Manik?" I asked looking towards  the main door from which he entered.

"I don't know . He said he wanted to buy some gifts for you" he broke my hopes and left.

I dialled his number "The number you have called is out of network ". Once he'll come home I'll tell him. God ye kitna pareshan karta hai mujhe.  I was continuously calling him but all was in vain.

" What happened to Nandu?" Rudra asked seeing me tensed

"See na Rudra ,Manik hasn't come yet " I said, dialing his number again and again.

"Chill yaar aa jayega" he said I nodded

"Bhabhi come lets click some pics" Juhi pulled me with everyone

We clicked a lot of selfies and pics and suddenly phone rang

When my eyes fell on my phone which was flashing his name

"Hello " I picked it up immediately

.

"Hello jaan " And his voice made me sigh in relief. Bekar ka tension le rahi thi mein.

"Where are you?" I almost shouted and I know right now he was pouting sadly

"Just on the way" he said with a sad tone

"How much time?"

"Just 15 mins ...acha forget this have you wore the dress which I sent" his voice changed into cheerful again

"Hmm" i just hummed

"Really!!! Please send me a pic na" he said excitedly.

"No...jab ghar aaoge na tab dekh lena" I declined

"Please" he said with his most sugary voice which always melts me.

"Fine " I said and I know he was smiling on his victory right now

"See I have sent" I said

"Wait a minute." He said and there was a silence of few seconds

"Hayeee......meri wife to kitti soni lag rahi hai" he said in his punjabi accent, making me blush . I just love it when he praises me in his punjabi accent

" Stop blushing and now give me a kiss"he demanded making my eyes  widened and my mouth opened

"No" i said

"Why?"

"When you'll come here I'll give you " I said and was going to cut the phone when

"No...no..no." He stopped me

"What?"

"Please" oh god again his sugary voice. Why does it always melt me?

"Okk fine"I said and bringing the speaker near my mouth and

"Muahhhhhh"

"Hayee mai to to mar gaya" he said

"Shut up" I shouted.

"Ye sab faltu ki baat ki na ..to mai na tumhara muh tod dungi" I shouted again.

"Solly," he said cutely making me smile.  He is the only one who can change my mood in seconds.

"Acha ...or kitna time" I asked him

"Bass almost reached" He said I nodded

"I love you" I don't know why I felt like saying it so I said to him.

"I love you too jaan" he answered

"Shittt" he cursed making me worry

"What happened Manik" i asked

"Nandu break nahi lag raha hai" he said worriedly

"What?"

"Manik"

"Manik"

"Manik"I called again but he didn't answered. The only sound I could  hear is that  of tyre squeaking sound.

" T.H.U.D"
