Queen Clarion watched from afar as her fairies scurried around with blankets made out of leaves, hoping to cover part of the tree and save it. While she did admire their will, deep down even she was losing hope. The uncontrollable freeze was spreading faster than before, she had no idea how this could have possibly happened but that was the least of her worries.
Turning her head away from the chaotic scenery, around springtime square she saw fairies hiding animals in their homes and hideouts that usually were used during hawk attacks. A sudden guilt filled the pit of her stomach, she knew she was supposed to be guiding her fairies but she simply couldn't. She had no idea what to do, to say or what to feel at this very moment.
She didn't know where her ministers were either, she hadn't seen them since they parted ways. Her guess was that they were trying to search for an explanation rather than helping or trying to save some of their precious work. She had no doubt that they meant to do well but sometimes it irritated her deeply, they couldn't do anything without her guidance.
"M'lady.." a small voice called from behind her. She knew who it was, there was only one fairy whom called her m'lady rather than your highness or your majesty. "Yes?" The queen spun around and as she expected, met the deep brown eyes of one of her most trusted summoning talent fairies, Viola.
"Wherever must we store the blue dust? The dust-depo is no safe space any longer.. Part of it has already frozen." Fairy Gary and one of his dust keepers, Terence appeared beside her with worry etched upon their faces. She hesitated for a moment, pondering over her answer. Would it be too bold? "Place it in the vault if you must.." She said, unsure of her own answer.
Her vault had some of Pixie Hollows most treasured items in it, only the Queen could access it and so she had trusted Viola with the code incase something happened to her. Some would say it was a rather risky thing to do, but it only made sense.
Fairy Gary nodded sternly before nudging Terence as a signal for him to leave. "Thank you, my queen" the head of dust keepers bowed his head before leaving alongside Viola.
"Oh Clarion.." she heard a voice coming from behind her, speaking with a heavy Scottish accent. Turning around, she met a pair of chocolate brown eyes, as expected. "Mary.." the queen sighed "I haven't got any idea of what I must do, whatever can we do?"
Despite being the queens closest friend, Fairy Mary was also her personal advisor. They both held eachother dear to their hearts and without doubt knew they could trust one another "I've no idea your highness.." Mary answered, her caring eyes filled with worry.
The two flew in silence, side by side. The silence felt comfortable yet threatening to them, the queen's eyes widened ever so slightly as she watched her kingdom turn into one big ice sculpture. What a queen she was, she hadn't even the slightest idea of how to stop it... If that were even possible.
The two women picked up their pace and not long after reached the pixie dust tree center, the dust was flowing slower than before, no matter how far away the freeze was, the magical tree's roots spread throughout all seasons, sooner or later it'd be frozen solid.
Her subjects tried their best to stack the blankets atop of the tree, however, seeing as the freeze took an incredibly strong wind with it, the blankets flew everywhere. A few flew right by them, both Fairies tried but only Queen Clarion managed to catch one. "Queen Clarion.. It's not working!" Clank yelled "The wind, it's too strong!" his friend followed up.
The Fairies looked helplessly at their ruler, surely she knew what to do. The queen clenched the leaf blanket, tightly with her fingers, scared to let go. Deep in thought, the ruler hadn't noticed until her thoughts were interrupted by the faint meowing of an animal, the queens head shot up, only to find Tinkerbell sitting atop of a lynx she could only assume was the keepers, beside her flew her sister and two Fairies unknown to her. Each one of the girls looked almost eagerly at her.
