"Maybe the next one will be open." Alex said with a determined face.
Jake and Alex had been driving around for about a half hour. All of the cafes and restaurants were closed.
"Was there a holiday or something today that I missed?" Jake said.
Alex gave a half-hearted laugh and kept looking around for someplace to be open.
"Oh, come on! It just has to be this day that everything is closed. Damnit." Alex half yelled frustrated.
Jake put a his hand on Alex's shoulder saying, "It's okay. Maybe we can just go get a couple snacks and then go to a park or something."
Alex smiled and said, "Okay" and started heading towards a market.
When Jake and Alex pulled up to the park there were only a few people there. They got out and headed towards a empty open spot. They sat down on the grass and pulled out their snacks.
As Jake started to open his drink he asked, "So what do you do? Like do you go to college, do you have a job, stuff like that."
"I go to college. It's nice there. I don't get a lot of hate. Unlike how school was..." Alex replied.
"I was bullied too." Jake said.
"What!? How could anyone not like your adorable face??" Alex said making a shocked face.
Jake blushed and stared at his drink.
"My parents aren't the best. Well my dad is pretty awesome, but my mom on the other hand, I swear she hates me." Jake said.
"My parents aren't that good either." Alex said.
Jake and Alex sat there eating their snacks for a few minutes the Alex asked Jake what he does.
"Well, I work at the market as you already know. I have been trying to go to college lately, but its just really stressful and sometimes I just don't, go." Jake replied.
Alex thought for a moment.
"Are you in any fandoms? Do you have ships?" Alex asked.
Jake laughed. "Too many to count."
Alex laughed. "Do you want to walk around?"
"Sure." Jake smiled and got up to throw away their trash in a nearby garbage can.
This is the happiest Jake's been in a long time. Maybe this is going to be a lot better. He smiled to himself and started walking back towards Alex.
After about a half an hour of walking around, laughing, talking, and telling fandom jokes they came to a stop and sat down at a bench. Jake had learned that Alex really loves pugs. Like really loves them.
Jake heard a faint fuck it and felt Alex's lips on his. Jake was shocked at first, but kissed him back. After a short while they came up for air. Alex was smiling like a dumbass and Jake was fighting the urge to attack Alex's lips. Alex pecked Jake's lips and stood up.
"Its getting dark. Wanna head back over to my car and go to my place?" Alex asked.
"Of course" Jake replied standing up.
As they started walking, Jake could feel Alex's hand wrapping around his and oh was he smiling like a dumbass.
