Cake Dog/cat & it's cake spider friend

I had another dream. This one doesn't really concern me but it was odd.

I'm talking to my brother and a friend about something. When suddenly a weird cake dog/cat? thing came running out and around, doing random stuff until halfway through the dream it started chasing me. I laughed it off and played with it a bit until another one, smaller and spider-like started to chase me.

I freaked out, like a person scared of spiders would, begging for them to get it away. They laughed and ignored me as I ran in fear until the friend, without saying anything, ate the cake spider and kinda just nudged the dog/cat one away somewhere else.

Then my alarm woke me up. I have no idea what the hell that was about but it was kinda funny after a second of confusion. I don't remember the dream all that much but this is what stuck with me. Why do I have such weird dreams?
