Chapter 6 ~ Zoe

School was over. And I kinda felt a little disappointed. I really wanted to spend every second I got with Josh. I mean it's not an obsession or anything, but this is my first relationship. I wanted to do all the couple things I have dreamt of doing, with him. I was outside in the courtyard waiting for Matthew, cause we always spent the afternoons together.

"Hey." I heard a sudden voice next to me. I turned around, and saw Josh.

"Oh hey."

"Sorry, I ran off earlier." He said while scratching the back of his neck.

I chuckled. "It's ok."

"So, would you like to spend the weekend with me?" His bright hazel eyes glistened in the sun.

"I would love to!"

"Alright cool. Here, let's trade numbers." He pulled out his phone and gave it to me. I took it and added my number, and we did the same for my phone.

"I can't wait." I said with a smile.

"Yeah me too.I'll see you later!"

"Ok bye." I waved to him as he walked away.

"So that's him?" The sudden voice behind me almost gave me a fucking heart attack. I turned around just to see the tall figure of Matthew smirking at me.

"What the fuck is wrong with you!?" I said, holding my fist against my chest. "And yes. That's him."

He let out a chuckle. "Baby, nothing's wrong with me. Also, what do you see in him? I mean I'm clearly way hotter than he'll ever be." He said posing like a stupid looking model.

"Yeah, you wish." I said walking off.

"Hey! Wait up." He grabbed my wrist, and started walking besides me.

"I'm spending the weekend with him."

"Oh hell no. You can only see him at school. Anytime outside school, you're mine." He said iterwining his hand with mine.

"What the fuck? Just watch me get my first kiss this weekend." I said, smirking.

"With-"

"With Josh." We both started laughing.

We reached my house and went inside. I dropped my bag on the couch and went to the kitchen to get something for us to eat.

"Aunt Jennie didn't come home yet? Wasn't she supposed to yesterday night?" He asked while taking a seat at the dining table.

"Yeah, she was. But she didn't." I grabbed some bowls to pour some cereal in.

"Oh. Have you tried calling her?"

"Yeah! Everyday since the past two months!" I was so angry that I slammed the container of cereal on the counter.

"Hey, look, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked." He got up from the table and stood next to me in the kitchen.

I turned and faced him. "No. I'm sorry. I was just so upset, I yelled at you." I looked down at my feet. I felt a pair of hands pull me, as I ended up in Matthew's chest.

"It's ok. I'm here for you, as always." He pulled me in tighter.

"Thanks Matthew." I hugged him back. We just stayed like that for a minute or two. My comfort place is in the arms of Matthew. He has always been there for me since the first time we met in kindergarten.

"Ok, how about we go on a walk? It will give you an opportunity to clear your mind." He pulled out of the hug.

"Sure." We headed out, and walked to the nearest park.

"Matthew, can I ask you something?" I asked him as we were walking.

He hummed in response while getting a grasp of my hand.

"Have you ever thought about being in a relationship, after, you know, Celine?" He looked at me. "Y-you know what? Nevermind." I broke off eye contact, in case he could be mad at me. Celine and Matthew were like couple goals for me. They were my inspiration. Matthew really loved her. But that all ended when Celine cheated on him. Matthew was heartbroken for almost more than a week. He hasn't dated anyone since her. And it's been three years.

"I don't know." I was shocked to hear him reply. "I guess, I haven't really found anyone. A girl or guy." He said with a soft tone.

"Right. I'm sure you will find that special someone." I smiled and gave him a pat on the back.

He stopped walking, and came in front of me. I gulped. "What if I already found that special someone?"
