"The pleasure of remembering had been taken from me, because there was no longer anyone to remember with. It felt like losing your co-rememberer meant losing the memory itself, as if the things we'd done were less real and important than they had been hours before."
― John Green, The Fault in Our Stars
PART ONE
Bliss's POV
"Bliss, can you hear me? Bliss? Thank God, you're alive.", I hear someone say. I feel someone let go of my hand and I slowly open my eyes only to see a blurry image running out the door.
"Doctor! I need a Doctor! She's finally awake!", I hear the image yell urgently, disappearing out the door.
My vision slowly focuses as I look around the room confusingly. I see myself covered in tubes and a monitor system that tends to beep every time I move. With even the slightest movement, my head begins to throb in pain. Where the hell am I?
A man in a white walks in, followed by someone else and checks the weird tubes connected to my hand. "It's nice to finally see you awake, Miss Edwards. How do you feel?"
I look at him bewilderingly. "Who are you?"
"Oh please forgive me, I completely forgot to introduce myself. I'm Dr. Morgan and I've been monitoring you for the past few weeks."
"Weeks? Where am I? What am I doing here?", I demanded.
The blurry image I saw earlier, slowly touches my hand and answers. "Calm down Bliss. You were in a terrible car accident and you've been in a coma for almost a month now. You don't know how much I've missed you."
He slowly draws his face near me, as if trying to kiss me, but I quickly turn away. "I don't know you. Who are you?", I questioned.
"What? What do you mean you don't know me? It's me, Aiden. I'm your fiance.", he says surprised by the way I reacted.
"Oh no.", Dr. Morgan gasps.
"Oh no, what? Why doesn't she remember me doctor? Why?", this person so-called Aiden questions the doctor with a worried expression across his face.
Dr. Morgan grabs a clipboard from the table at the end of the bed. He carefully examines it and finally responds. "It appears the patient has suffered from some type of memory loss due to the head injury."
"No.", Aiden says skaking his head, "No, this can't be happening. Not Bliss. Anyone but Bliss." He looked back at me and began crying.
I just sat there in shock. I couldn't cry nor show emotions of the result of my accident. I don't know who I was. And theirs a possibility I never will.
"Is there anyway to recover my full memory back, doctor?" I finally spoke up.
"I'm not sure. We would have to run some more tests in order to find out what type of amnesia you have. Based on your head injury, I believe you have post-traumatic amnesia."
"Is that the worst one there is?" Aiden said wiping of his tears.
"No, but just like I said. We need to run more tests to be sure this is treatable."
Aiden immediately agreed. "Don't worry everything will be okay." He said as they took me to another room to perform an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scan on me.

"Are you hungry?" Aiden asked me as we exited the MRI room.
"Yeah." I answered.
"You should stay in bed. I'll bring you some food from the hospitals cafe." He kindly offered.
"No, it's okay I'll go with you."
