"So, are you gonna come with me or not?" Jaxx's voice cut through my daydream, we had been invited to a party that Alex was hosting at a hotel. "Oh... uhhhhh, yea sure whatever." I replied dryly. I didn't really feel like going, but I knew that Sora was gonna be there, and I knew that Jaxx was aware of that as well. I had to be a "responsible friend" and make sure that they didn't get into a big fight and crash the whole party. Alex would kill me if that were to happen. "Alright, we'll leave at eight if that's alright with you?" Jaxx half asked. "Yea, that's fine." I said as he closed my bedroom door behind him. I laid down on my bed, too tired to do anything else.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I woke up to the sound of Jaxx beating his punching bag up. He'd stuck a picture of Sora's face on it, saying it helped his anger flow out easier. Although it was reasonable to be scared for Sora's life, I wasn't at all. I was well aware that they liked each other, even if they didn't know it themselves. I got up slowly, still groggy from my nap, went over to my closet, and started looking for something to wear. Based on how the party was being hosted at a hotel, everyone would probably be wearing fancy stuff. "Whatever." I thought to myself as I put on my usual purple sweater. I heard a knock on my door accompanied with an "Are you ready to go Light?" from Jaxx. "Yea, almost done." I replied as I put on my scarf. "K, I'll be in the car for now." his voice trailed off downstairs.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The car slowed down to a stop as we got near the hotel. Jaxx and I got out of the car, Jaxx immediately scouted the area for Sora. "Welp, gotta go!" Jaxx said as he spotted the cyan haired boy going inside the building. I watched as he ran to him, ready to start their dramatic conflict. Suddenly I felt my stomach drop a little, now that Jaxx wasn't next to me I felt the loneliness drift to me. I took a deep breath as I started walking towards the revolving doors, it would be okay.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To tell you the truth, it was crowded. I wasn't the best with people, normally I would just hear my friends as they talked, not really bothering to join into their conversations. But this was different, I practically didn't know anyone here. I made my way over to the snack area, my face lit up as I saw a bowl of gummy worms set down. Great, Alex knew me so well! As I started eating, I felt like everyone was staring at me. "Stop being so anxious Light," I told myself, "They're not even looking at you." I tried to shake off the feeling as I turned around to see if anyone was actually looking in my direction. As expected, everyone was in their own little world, just like me. I still didn't feel too comfortable, so I took some last gummy worms and made my way through the crowd into the hallway. There were people in the hallways, some kissing, some passed out, some just on their phones. I spotted stairs leading to the rooftop. "The rooftop's probably deserted." I convinced myself as I made my way up.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This was much better, although I could hear the sound of passing cars from all the way down, it was mostly quiet. I took in a breath of fresh air, already feeling my body loosen up. The sound of the door opening interrupted the *almost* silence. I looked back to see a ginger haired girl close the door behind her. She turned around, realizing that she wasn't alone on the rooftop. "Ah! I'm so sorry, I didn't think that anybody would be up here..." She said, her face growing a little red from the embarrassment. "It's fine." I said in return, managing to give her an awkward smile. She slowly walked up to where I was standing. Suddenly her face grew concerned, "Wait you aren't up here because you were planning on..." She didn't finish her sentence, leaving me puzzled. Seeing as I didn't reply, she seemed to shake the thought off.

"So... why are you up here?" She asked me, a hint of curiousness in her voice. "Wow, how could she be so talkative with a stranger?" I thought to myself. "I don't know, I guess the anxiety just got to me, I felt like everyone was staring at me." I said, kind of surprised at how I was able to tell all of that to a girl that I didn't even know. Then again, It's not like we were gonna meet again anyway. "Ah, I see.." the ginger haired girl replied. "What about you?" I asked her. "Huh? Oh uh, I came here with my friends, but we got separated later on. I probably should've stayed in a corner so they could find me easily, but I got afraid of being by myself so I ran up here to try and feel a bit better." She said quickly. We looked at each other for a few seconds, then stared at the open dark sky.

I focused on how the clouds moved slowly across the sky, when I suddenly heard the girl say to me in a quiet voice, "Y'know, I really like the stars, I love how they can shine bright even when they're placed in an ocean of darkness. It's like the stars are the positive in the world, while the dark sky is the negative, even though the positive is small, it still shines through the world, making it a bit better..." Her eyes were half closed, yet they seemed as if they were glowing. "That's..." I trailed off, I was left speechless... The orange girl burst into a honey-like laugh, her body seemed to relax, her cheeks grew a pretty cherry red.

Suddenly, the comforting atmosphere was broken as the sound of the door behind us opened quickly. "Charli!" Alex's voice cut though the short silence, "We've been looking everywhere for you! I'm sorry to interrupt your little date with Light, but if I don't bring you back to Levi and Luca as soon as possible, they'll kill me. You know how protective those two are when it comes to you." "Oh, so Charli was her name..." I thought to myself. Alex started dragging Charli to the door, when Charli suddenly said "It was nice talking with you Light, I hope we meet again!" as a soft smile spread across her lips. "Yea, you too, Charli..." I said in return, my voice barely a whisper, as the door closed behind the two girls.
