"So we'll go there at around eight, alright?" Levi said, we had been invited to a party that Alex was hosting at a hotel. "Yep!" Me and Luca piped up in unison. I was sort of excited for the party, it seemed scary to go to such a "big event." At least Levi and Luca would be there with me, although... I don't really think I had an option on that matter. "Charli! Let's go get ready for the party!" Luca said excitedly. "Okay!" I said, as we quickly ran over to my room.

Luca and I went downstairs to meet up with Levi. We'd gone through a whole makeover session, but we ended up deciding to wear our normal clothes, Luca in his white and black sweatshirt, and me in my orange sweater. Levi was wearing the same clothes that he had on earlier in the day, I don't think he had even really thought about changing. I stifled a laugh, knowing that I would surely get scolded by Levi if he knew what I was thinking.

"We're here." Levi said, not a hint of excitement in his voice. Then again, that's how he always sounded... We got out of the car ready to head into the building. "This wasn't as bad as I thought it would be!" I thought to myself as I glanced around the parking lot, there didn't seem to be that many cars, maybe I would even know everyone there!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once inside, I could see that there were little crowds of people in the hallways, my stomach started to knot up. We walked into the main part of the hotel, there were even more people in this part of the building... "Best friend!!!" Alex's voice rang through the room, she ran over to give Levi a hug, until she noticed his outfit. "Levi!! How could you wear that to my partyyyy!" She scolded him, "Come on, I knew this would happen, so I brought some spare clothes!" She said as she dragged him out of the room, Levi looked back at us mouthing a small 'sorry.' Okay, well... at least I still had Luca!... We heard some cheering on the other side of the room, a crowd had silently but quickly started forming. "Hm? What could they be looking at?" Luca asked, as he quickly grabbed my hand leading me close to the crowd. There were a lot of people and he had lost his grip on my hand, leading to us being lost in the crowd. "Great." I thought to myself. "This is fine! Luca will realize that I'm missing and will surely come looking for me as soon as he can!" Yea that was true, but it didn't mean that it made me feel any better about being in a crowded room without no one that I knew in sight. I walked back out of the crowd that had formed, heading over to one of the hallways. There were people in the hallways, some kissing, some passed out, some just on their phones. I spotted stairs leading to the rooftop. "No one will be up there, I'll still be by myself, but it will be better than being in a room full of strangers..." I thought to myself as I made my way up.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I opened the door leading up to the rooftop slowly, looking back to close it, hoping that I hadn't brought any attention to myself. I turned around to suddenly see a lavender haired boy standing near the edge. ""Ah! I'm so sorry, I didn't think that anybody would be up here..." I said, feeling as my face grew a little red from the embarrassment. "It's fine." He said quietly in return, giving me a funny looking smile. I slowly made my way to where he was standing, suddenly a thought popped into my head, "Wait you aren't up here because you were planning on..." I didn't finish my sentence, afraid of what the answer could be. Seeing as he looked confused, I decided that he wasn't aware of what I was talking about, I let out a mental sigh of relief.

"So... why are you up here?" I asked the boy, curiousness lighting up inside my brain. "I don't know, I guess the anxiety just got to me, I felt like everyone was staring at me." He said. "Ah, I see.." I replied. "What about you?" He asked. "Huh? Oh uh, I came here with my friends, but we got separated later on. I probably should've stayed in a corner so they could find me easily, but I got afraid of being by myself so I ran up here to try and feel a bit better." I said quickly. We looked at each other for a few seconds, then stared at the open dark sky.

"Okay... and awkward moment of silence, great!..." I thought to myself, when I suddenly heard myself say in a quiet voice, "Y'know, I really like the stars, I love how they can shine bright even when they're placed in an ocean of darkness. It's like the stars are the positive in the world, while the dark sky is the negative, even though the positive is small, it still shines through the world, making it a bit better..." I was surprised, why did I speak out without even being aware of it at first? "That's..." the boy trailed off, he seemed speechless. I burst into laughter, I felt so relaxed around this stranger, I never knew I could feel this way...

Suddenly, the fairytale-like atmosphere was broken as the sound of the door behind us opened quickly. "Charli!" Alex's voice cut though the short silence, "We've been looking everywhere for you! I'm sorry to interrupt your little date with Light, but if I don't bring you back to Levi and Luca as soon as possible, they'll kill me. You know how protective those two are when it comes to you." "Oh, so his name was Light," I thought to myself, "What a coincidence that I had been talking about a form of light with someone that just so happened to be called Light!" Alex started dragging me to the door, once again, I heard myself suddenly say "It was nice talking with you Light, I hope we meet again!" I gave him a smile, even if I didn't mean to have said those words, they were still true to my thoughts. "Yea, you too, Charli..." I heard him say in return, his voice but a whisper, as the door closed behind us.
