Chapter 20| Doomed

Sana's POV

I reluctantly opened my sticky eyes and found myself curled up in a warm button-down shirt inside Tzuyu's car.

I sat up so fast I thought I would make myself dizzy. I whipped my head around to see Tzuyu in a nice fitting shirt, hand inches from mine.

A giddy feeling rose inside me, I pulled my phone out of my back pocket and checked the time.

The giddiness disappeared and a feeling of dread replaced it.

"Tzu! Oh my gosh..... Tzuyu!"

I shook her and she slurred, "What? What happened?"

She sat up, rubbing her eyes, and then seemed to see me. I saw the same emotion I felt flash before her eyes- happiness. But I was so dead.

"Tzuyu, Dad told me to meet him in the morning at 6:45"

She was still a little tired, and she yawned, " What time is it now?"

"10:24"

"Oh shit"

I stood up unsteadily and wailed, "I know! He's going to kill me!"

I looked around, "Where are we anyway?"

Tzuyu looked slightly embarrassed, "A little off-campus. There's a park in the town, but it's a little abandoned."

I blinked at the miles of grass that surrounded the car, and the narrow gravel road that had led us here. "Wow. It is really pretty here."

Tzuyu nodded, " Yeah, I've been here before my parents left me in that crappy University."

"No offense to your dad." She added.

Wow, she is right, I still don't know a lot of things about her.

I was silent for a moment, "Do you wanna talk about it?"

She gave a short smile, "Hell no. For Ten years I've wanted nothing but death. That's all you need to know."

I was horrified, "Ten years? When did you start feeling better about life?"

She looked directly into my eyes, "The day that I met you."

I turned scarlet, she smirked, turning away and hopping into the front seat of the car. Gosh, this girl kills me.

Nayeon's POV

"Sana! Where on earth have you been?!"

She was rushing into the dorm, wearing a large size button-down and carrying her purse, tripping over the stairs as she raced by hollering, "No matter! Has dad stopped by yet?!"

I groaned, "Um, yes. We lied and said you were sick but he came in anyway! so now he's suspicious of you and knows we're liars!"

Sana looked ready to die, "Okay I need to take a shower, and find him.... come up with a cover story."

She ran off, and seconds later the noise from the shower turned on, leaving me with a sigh to myself. This girl is going to get herself into so much trouble.

Sana's POV

"Um, I had to go to the store to get some medicine."

I could tell my dad wasn't buying it.

He gave me a stony-faced glare, "I had coffee for breakfast. COFFEE. Do you know how starving I am right now? I waited and waited for you and when I go to find you, you're gone. Even Mina and Nayeon tried to tell me a cheap lie about 'being sick' but NONE of them seemed surprised at finding you out of bed, and out of your dorm, do you want me to let you live in the house instead?!"

"Sorry, dad. It won't happen again."

"What is it? Where were you?" He cut off my sentence, "-And don't you dare tell me another 'I'm sick lie'. That's complet-"

A voice came through the office door, "Mr. Minatozaki? I need to speak to you about the afternoon assembly on Thursday. We're having trouble with the arrangements"

Praise Jesus and all of the saints! Thank you, Mr. Choi!

My dad's tone changed from angry to businesslike in a split second, "Of course, I'll be right with you."

He turned back to me, "Tonight. Dinner. 7:00. If you are late again I will surely find out where you were, and what you were doing with a certain person."

He stood up briskly and began discussing matters with Mr. Choi, leaving me with a sick feeling in my stomach. I left the office and walked slowly down the courtyard path.

Somehow I almost believed he knew about Tzuyu and I.

But that's impossible.

Right?
