Prolouge: Sparrowkit
Sparrowkit snuggled up against me and fell asleep next to Shadowkit. After filling themselves of milk of course. Sparrowkit was named after the sparrow that got in the nursery that looked just like her. Shadowkit was of course named for his black pelt. They were so precious, beautiful little things that I would risk my life protecting. I had decided long ago that I was never leaving the nursery, I would help the other queens and that led to more kits, from of course the same father, my mate Grasswing. He died a half moon ago, my kits would never meet their father, so I would make sure they got the best you could in the forest.
A moon has passed since they were born and they just opened their eyes. To see the world. I didn't let them out of the nursery for another moon or two. Sparrowkit was itching to get out out the nursery at this time but I woun't let her. After a while I let her and Shadowkit go and explore the camp together. With Applekit, Riverkit, and Rabbitkit of course. Soon enough they will be getting to big for the nursery. So soon.
Four moons have passed since Sparrowkit and Shadowkit were born. They have grown so much. They go out far more often in leafbare than they used to now that their fur coats are thicker. The were playing outside and I heard a yowl "ATTACK!" yowled the voice, I knew at once that it was Iceclan's most feared clan, Soulclan. "Sparrowkit, Shadowkit!" I called from the nusery my head sticking out. Applekit, Riverkit, and Rabbitkit were in the nursery a second after I called for my kits. Soon the battle started and I watched in horror as cats from Soulclan and Iceclan fell. Then I saw my kit trapped between 2 rocks with a small Soulclan apprentice creeping inside. All I could do was watch in horror as the apprentice crept foward seeing as the space was to small for me.
Then to my surprise Sparrowkit leaped out and scrached the apprentices eyes causing her to back out of the cliff, she ran off without another word about it. Sparrowkit then sprinted out of the rocks and into the nursery. When I ducked back in Sparrowkit was sleeping next to Shadowkit who had followed her in. I sighed and quickly ducked out to protect the nursery. I slashed and scrached but soon, I was laying on the ground. Blood seeping out of a wound in my side. "No" I whispered, then the light disappeared and I was left with total darkness. Then I saw a cat coming up to my, "no, no, no" I said to myself, "this isn't happeing!" Grasswing reached me. "Your time has come" he said to me. "Young and beautiful." Then in shock as he walked away, I followed.
